If it contains the words video and game, it must be a WOW clone. |

Well the crafting reveal nudged my interest back up a little... reminds me a little of the way things worked in the Star Ocean series. |

For crafting, I guess the question remains how detailed or complex the actual process is. Will there be degress of points to be distribute or is it one blaster is the same as the next? Is it just like the crafting in KOTOR? So from SWG perspective they automated the gathering and the componet assembly(factories) but left the final build and resources exploring for the player? There will be much much less mass manufacturing as its seems to be more on a individual bases. Once I'm done with a said weapon, I then put in on the market for a lower advanced character who then can use it. I would guess you will be busy with this system to equip your character and his/her companions. How is this system epic? How is crafting epic? Is there Ledgendary or Elite compents aquired from the Mission Phase allowing for exciting crafting "related" excitment? Just some thoughts on this new system. |

Originally posted by Malickie That's exactly what I thought when I read about it. Unfortunately, they didn't say anything about being able to board the other side's dropship, and I doubt there will be any air or ground vehicles (especially air) which added a lot of fun elements to that game... Oh well, I guess you can't be a force-user in Battlefield :p. |

I like what I am seeing, don't know how much until I get to play it, but glad to see some changes that are not the norm in other games..:) |

Well, I am not very good at PVP, so I tend to avoid it; and I am not much of a crafter either, so which way they made it is quite of little concern to me. It sounds different enough, but it says little about the day to day routine of it or the meaning in relation to the rest. I guess I have to see and experience this type of crafting myself to really judge it. It is an odd way to circumvent the problem, they don't want the hero to do mundane tasks like crafting, so they let you send your "pet" comrade to do it at your command. It has some elegance, tho it sounds like a very passive doing, as opposed to the very active crafting of EQ2 or VG. But so far, it does look fitting for SWTOR and not generally bad. Hey, they could do that to entertaining too! You get a hireling/companion whom you take over for being Entertainer as a sort of hobby.

While the mechanic isn't really NEW (the guns killing the ships can be points to win, if you think about it), the way they did is cool.
I sure would like to hear about bigger BGs as well as more details about the Open PvP. I'd love to know more about the crafting. Having your companions get the mineral nodes is quite a good idea. |
