It's not worth it to expend energy to "hate" a product.  In fact, I snub their advertising by not thinking about them at all.  I prefer the underdogs and prefer to see what they have to offer.  For example, I don't have any Apple products but do have a Zune HD for their ability to receive HD radio (which the iTouch lacked).

I would, and likely am, labeled as a "WoW hater" because of my criticism of the game.

The reality is, I don't hate WoW. I played WoW for several years, and wouldn't have if I hated it. It does have it's positive points, but it also has a lot of failings as well. Overall I would say WoW does a lot of things to a passable level of quality, but it doesn't do anything particularly well. It's a very mediocre game.

What I do hate however, is the people who act like WoW is such an amazing game, and that it's developer, Blizzard, can do no wrong. It just irks me to no end that so many people who have little to no experience in any other MMO, or much of any other PC games in some cases, are so dead set convinced that WoW is the end all be all of MMO gaming.

I don't know why you should HATE wow.  I could see why you'd hate it for the same reason people hate walmart, mcdonalds, microsoft, google(?)

It draws me in no longer.  

It did after I quit but I think after this financial collapse blizzard can no longer tap into a "pscyhe" that encompasses everyone so instead they must appeal to a smaller base.

I think along those lines, but I rather hate the human race for being so full of easy to catch tools.

Seriously though, get over it, WoW may be the best thing ever for some people, and for some other people, it may be something they would rather not play, and when discussions come up, they voice it....Just as those that like it get all riled up that someone could not like something they think is the best thing ever.

Pretty pathetic to dislike something just because it's popular.  If you had a REASON, that would be a different story.  For example, I don't like McDonalds because the food is unhealthy and bland.  Or I don't like the ipod because it's made for the lowest common denominator and doesn't have features that mp3 players should have.  Or I don't like wow because all it's good at is combat, forgetting all the other great stuff that makes a mmo a mmo.  To hate it just because it's popular is straight up lame.

That is because WoW is currently the end of all for MMORPGs. As much as people want to deny this, World of Warcraft is simply put the best mmorpg available at this moment. By far.

You can deny it all you want but WoW is still the best MMO on the market now.

I played wow, when I played it, I found some joy, which slowly eroded as I played more and more. It can be a fun game, however the community is what I enjoy about an MMO, WoW has a horrid community, and so, I no longer enjoy that aspect of the game, whats left is, mediocre content made for the lowest common denominator to make as much money as possible.

I dont hate iProducts because they are popular, I hate them because people that buy them dont realise they are being suckered by inferior products made in China by people that live and work in horrible conditions so you can enjoy your status object. I despise the capitalism that makes money off of gullible idiots and the workers blood sweat and tears. They act as if the iProduct is the most amazing piece of technology when it is substandard and inferior to the majority of products on the market, but its 'cool and hip' so its okay.

I detest the condition of thought that it is okay to accept mediocrity in any way shape or form because its popular, or the defense that because it is popular, it cannot possibly be mediocre but the best of its kind. I dont mind popular products that are well made and well done, I do however rail against inferior and poor products that are lauded simply because of the money they make *cough* Bay films *cough*

Im jaded and cynical because of years of gaming has eroded my will to continue, albeit only a few years of MMO gaming, I find no joy in the constant dumbing down of every genre to market to the casual gamer. It repulses me that I cannot find a game that I can enjoy when I am confronted with the most basic and mediocre options. Perhaps its time to stop gaming as it is now a hobby for the more base animal, the casual gamer.

I dont hate WoW because it is popular, I hate WoW because for it to become popular, it has been made into a mediocre game to pander to the wallet of the lowest common denominator in game culture, the casual.
