Gotta admit that, as cool as it is, I'm a little disappointed... I was hoping they'd show more of the actual cataclysm taking place and less of Deathwing just talking. Deathwing as a character isn't particularly interesting compared to previous WoW villains; it's what he's actually done to the world that makes this expansion interesting so I was hoping the trailer might reflect that... oh well. |

really nice video, tho im curious about the dragon... in WOTLK was an ice dragon for the cold times...., now cataclysm is a fire dragon that brings flames and destruction... what will come next after cataclysm? a "go green" dragon that brings peace and flourishing times? LOL, need some more ideas blizzard... "in peace, in sleep under the barren, abandoned soil"

Deathwing isn't exactly 'just another dragon' and is a even older charactar than Arthas as he was introduced back in Warcraft 2 and is much more fleshed out than Arthas was. He just isn't as widely known to many people who got into Warcraft starting with WoW. |

I like it. Lich King was my favourite but this was pretty awsome. The voice over was also very cool. I wonder why no one is commenting on the cataclysm in the video. I love that so much!!!! I spotted 1k needles, booty bay, darkshore, barrens, org zep tower, loch modan and SW at end getting 'sploded, crashed and smashed! Awsome! Sorry, but I got to argue that I'm much more interested in Deathwing then other dragons. He has a interesting and filled out story that is original enough to make a dragon, normal fantasy creature, exciting. Especially with his connection with the Old Gods wonder where they are going to take that. All in all good stuff. |

I'm really surprised so many people are getting down on the dragon. Huge peices of metal getting bolted to anything is pretty awesome. It'd even be bad ass to fight a steel bolted unicorn IMO. The huge wave breaking over Booty Bay made my hair stand up. Same great quality animation Blizz's cinematic team has always done, maybe the best in the business. It's a pretty tough toss up between them and square enix. And BTW, who doesnt know that cinematics are animated, not generated like in game. Does it really surprise you that the quality is better in a 2 minute cinematic that took a team of people months to animate? Heres your next shocker: Wrestling is FAKE!!! /Deal with it |

Seeing the discussion of this cinematic on various site would explain why WoW is so often the subject of discussion that it is. You have people that want to leave their spouses and spend their nights with this clip. You have people hoping that those that enjoy the clip are not allowed to breed. It generally pushes opinions to the extreme. Though, to keep it from being didactic - there is the group that is extremely disinterested and does not care either way. I miss the MMORPG genre. Well, knowing WoW, some named figure will come in at the end of that raid, cast a spell, use an amulet or something, and banish him back to the depths.. never really defeating him, but only keeping him docile.. until he returns again... :) |
