Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

Couldn't wait for TOR, huh? Also, that was kinda... unfair match-up. Nature without Technology is little more than animals running about. |

Assuming that the scores given only reflect a comparison between these two games, then I have to agree. EVE is a great title, worthy of its fans' dedication and loyalty. STO... well, let's just hope that somebody else gets a shot at the Star Trek IP other than Cryptic. Hopefully sometime in the not-too-distant-future. |

Tossing EvE in "Fighting Talk" with STO is like matching up GSP and a toddler in the Octagon. Can we do CO and CoX next please? I wanna see another land slide... |

edit: ok, it's in German, http://www.gameforge.de/content/blogcategory/35/69/lang,en/ (despite the (lang,en) part). Looks like it is DS9 based according to google translation. -mklinic "There's a point I think we're missing. |

I already feel the drama.
Spreadsheets! Gankers! 20 years needed to catch up! Crappy UI! vs CO in space! No content! Cryptic! Cash Shop! It was cool for the first 2 days, then i ran out of content! |

I agree, this was a slaughter all the way, but it would be interesting to see it done again in about a year or so when SWTOR is released and has at least 6 months under its belt. "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

Honestly I would have much rather seen a DF vs EVE article. I understand they are to completely different settings but both games target a similar playerbase. And seriously that article would have generated some Heat. This one is just sad... Even if you don't like Eve you can't deny that its a fundamentally sound game, STO on the other hand is a mess. Even the players that like the game know it has problems. Its no freaking contest. |

Next edition in Fighting talk: Books versus Cats
the only thing that is common about star trek and Eve online is that its internet spaceships. cant compare them in anything else. |

Clearly this is some kind of joke. EVE is the dominant space MMO. It is a high-quality, player-driven living universe. It has years of refinement and feature development poured into it, and a growing, vibrant customer base. STO is a crappy knock-off, though of an intellectual property that millions know and love, with mediocre RPG gameplay and mediocre space gameplay. Last I heard, it was busy choking on its own vomit. I will be utterly unsurprised when I hear this abortion has been turned off. Even troubled development projects like Jumpgate Evolution are probably going to be more interesting space games than STO. Why are we even having this conversation? |

A few things come to mind when thinking about STO.
I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again? Explorer: 87%, Killer: 67%, Achiever: 27%, Socializer: 20% |

I have an idea. Mods if you are reading this why not let us vote on the next Fighting Talk match up? Put out a list of ten possible match ups and have us vote. |

The difference is Eve is boring right away and STO is boring after 6 hours of gameplay |

This is like comparing Mike Tyson in his prime to the local neighborhood bully. *baffled* "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. It is a brand on the imagination that affects the individual who has suffered it, forever." - Noam Chomsky |

Honestly, this article isn't even worth reading. EVE vs STO? Really? You couldn't think of anything else to write about, like strawberry jam vs toe jam? |

Despite the whole unfairness of the match-up, the bias on this article is of such magnitude that it makes reading the whole thing a rather boring chore. It just screams "I love EVE so much and I believe that STO sucks!". Is impartiality too much to ask for? |

What... the... hell... is... this?! None of this needed to be said.
It's like analyzing a fight between me and Mike Tyson.
Step one: Get owned by Mike Tyson. Step two: Declare winner.
This just never needed to happen to find out who would win the fight. |
