Anyhow, I am sure it will be very hard to fit Skavens working "with" the empire... if nothing else becase they do not belive in skavens.. =P But then again lore always have to take the back seat if somehing can not be fitted within lore. This have been a good conversation |

Playing skaven sounds really cool, but you have to EARN it :). WAR had potential that it did not live up to,witch i wish it would have..i loved my Chosen. but adding (as one other said) basicly monster play is grasping for survival imo. they should have spent more time and came out with a Good/deep Xpac. but im not a dev, dont know how hard that would be,all i can say is after 6months,a guild that was 200+ and followd WAR 2years prelaunch, and almost everyone is gone just goes to show really,i do kinda hope war can dig it self out of a hole.but as we have seen once you get so deep its REALLY hard to come back. |

Originally posted by Loke666 The main question is how much did EA pour into WAR, how much do they have a reasonable chance to recoup when recurring costs are factored in, and does slashing and burning any expenses related to EA make somebodies corporate balance sheet look better, or prevent a more productive arm of the company from facing cuts? It's that simple. At this point it does not matter if the game has potential. It does not matter if the population has stabilized at a certain fan level, or if gameplay has been fixed, improved or revolutionarily turned around. WAR lost money on its balance sheets. Lots of it. It is a massive disapointment in turns of revenue generation. Especially when compared to EA's primary competitor. ( and it is not escaping EA executives notice that most of their competitors profit has been coming from "non console games" ie WOW and Starcraft. WAR is what they expected to grab a piece of that pie damnit!). The current trash talking going on between the AB CEO and the EA one does not help WAR in any way. It is a festering pit of resentment, and will never escape that. So the only thing that it lives or dies on is whether or not it can meet ongoing expenses and whether its losses can ever be recouped. Love the game or hate it, at this point it is only a matter of time before it feels the harsh swing of the axe from an EA bean counter in order to protect an executives pet project. |
