I know this might be a weird place to ask, but I'm looking for a Shadowrun tabletop gaming group in Knoxville, TN area, or a GM as I know of a few people who would probably play if we had a GM.
Post here or send me a message!
And wouldn't it be awesome to have a Shadowrun mmo?

Originally posted by Mordoth I would definitely take you up on the offer if I lived in Knoxville, unfortunately I do not, regardless it is so very refreshing to see someone seeking a pen and paper group. A rarity these days. I wish you all the luck in finding a few people to play with, Shadowrun is easily one of my top three favorite pen and paper roleplaying games. The amount of time I spent running campaigns during second edition was tremendous, and my sourcebook collection was large to say the least :P Agreed about a Shadowrun MMO, I've been hoping someone would buy the rights and do it properly for years. Alas, nobody seems to have done it yet. There was an independent group of developers working on a project for it at one time, but they were issued a cease and desist by Microsoft.

I last played extensively when it was 2nd edition as well. Have recently played a little with 4th edition and liked it for the most part (except for the additionally attributes and that the magic attribute doesn't start at 6 like it used to). I haven't done any tabletop gaming in over 10 years and have got the bug again. As to the Shadowrun mmo, Microsoft sold the rights a few years ago to some company I have never heard of before. But I think the digital rights were to the 2nd Edition, so maybe someone else will get to do a game based on 4th edition. The independent group that tried it have their own company developing something and they have a website, they're called Sixth World Games. If they ever get anything to release it looks to be something heavily influenced by Shadowrun. Still, I hope to find some people to run with locally. I am addicted to Shadowrun....LOL. |

People still play pen and paper? WOW. I can not even imagine how I could do that anymore without feeling deeply odd. I guess if your a kid still it is OK. |

What's odd about getting together with a group of friends, hanging out and having fun playing games? Ever hear of Scrabble? UNO? Poker?
What sounds odd to me is sitting at a computer, alone, in the dark. Interacting with people you've never met. Or just sitting at a computer, alone, in the dark, interacting only with the computer.
(Although I have done all of the above, but not usually in the dark.). Tabletop gaming is a lot more social if you ask me.
