Jurassic Park MMORPG!!  That is a game I REALLY desire.  Practicly have made up the whole game in my head.  And I test it out in my math class

Cept one thing, SOE shouldnt make it hehe.  It could be a good game and i dont want to be nickle and dimed to play it. 

Id hate to be the tank too =)

Electronic arts would make it, and any else that made jurrasic Park: OG would do it.

The concept of it a mmorpg doesent make much of a good idea for me, but just online feature to a jp game, i can understand.

you cant do much as a dinosaur, and if its on a island of survivors, what crashed on the island!?

I personally believe that this game is VERY well possible.  Here is the run down:

The game takes place right after the first movie, and many of the employees of Jurassic Park are stuck on the Island.  (You Play an Employee)  And no country dares to make a recue mission.  Thus, you are abandoned.  It is a fight to survive.  This game will not be like any other MMO, but rather a 1st Person Shooter MMO.  Like the movie, you cannot walk outside without being hunted. 

As for the size, you must remember that there are more than one islands.  There could be many, and they all could be conected by bridges. 

Just bare with me on this one:  Imagine exploring the islands of Jurassic Park.  You have been running through the jungle for a long period of time, when out of the fog, you see a large cement building.  You slowly enter, moving aside the blood-covered debree.  Something is wrong here...   You move around quietly looking for food, suplies, people...  As you open a closet door, something moves behind you.  You slowly turn around and there you are, looking eye to eye with a Raptor.  Knowing that you cannot solo a Raptor, you make a run for it.  The raptor chases you, until your trapted in the abandoned building.  You look up, there is a air vent.  Luckly you make it.  Your safe... for now...

This game wont be like anyother.  It wont be a grinding game... and just because your the highest lvl does not mean you can take a Raptor 1 on 1.  This game will be about the adventuring, in groups, or on your own, praying that you do not run across a T-rex, or a pack of carnivorous Dinosaurs.  Also, in a JP MMO, it would be a fight to SURVIVE, not to grind to the highest lvl... 

I am not sure about you, but I am sick of "The Grind" to become a high lvl.  Last time I checked, no where in a MMORPG did it say that there had to be leveling. 

Like I said in the beginning...  a Jurassic Park MMO will not be like any other.

Hey, use some imagination why buy weapons when you can make them by yourself? Imagine your in the game and take a rock with 10 attack points, then you take a stick with 15 attack points, you put them together and make a hammer or a spear, then you take a branch and some kind of rope you put them together and make a slingshot, then you take a rock and shoot it even take parts of dinasours and other things to make weapons, my final idea is to take dna go to a lab and if your lucky be a dinasour. make weapons be dinasours whats better? if anyone is going to make an MMORPG take this.

That would be a neat idea. When I was little I wanted to make expansions Jurassic Park. I hand drew some maps and stuff and labeled them lol. I would play it if it was done right. But yea, good way to think out side of the box.

Hmm.... there could be 3rd person human races fighting the Dinosaurs. Did somone say Turok? But personally I think Dino VS Dino would be sweet. :) Different dino archtypes! woot.

JP would be an awesome game as long as EA doesn't make it, and SOE doesn't make a TCG immediately after...

~But I think that this game could in no way survive without modernized gameplay and mechanics/graphics. The IP may be over 15 yrs old, but attaching any kind of retro feel to it would be the biggest mistake ever - they'd never maky another movie again if a bad MMO came out.

As for what I would do with it;

* Classless, CoD4-like desing with emphasis on gunplay for the most part and melee w/ axes/machetes only on other humans in PvP scenarios or hordes of tiny compys. If a dino gets to you, you are officially merced, logically. No sit n' stick gameplay.

* PvP can be written almost to any logical scenario;

Dissident crash survivors ala Lord of the Flies, and an emphasis on survival.

Poachers vs Consevationalists; where one side tries to capture creatures and the other save them.

Looters vs Scientists; where the events take place after the isle is abandoned and one sides seeks secrets for sale, and the other to just reclaim them.

The storyline possibilities are endless - but the route for gameplay is very thin, think Dino Crisis or Monster Hunter if they both were online. Action-Oriented, fear-inducing gameplay that makes you RUN from dino rather then wade in and trading blows.

* Loot would have to be logical; are they gonna need body parts from dinos? No... unless it's meat or something, or the idea is survival and you can use various parts as tools or some kind of craft use. Otherwise, I think the loot idea should fall to a staple of the IP - Genetics. Taking samples of every dead creature... for some reason or another. Maybe to breed new types and introduce them to the game world, or to make serums to combat poison spit or mutagens that are deadly to dinos as a weapon.

I love the Jurassic Park movies, but I doubt the game would ever be made. Popularity of the IP has died, Universal has even shelved the script for JP4.

Dude, they were making a Stargate and Firefly MMO so I highly doubt JP is impossible.

They could make TRON an MMO if they wanted to, it would do just fine based on it's fanbase, and it's 20 yrs old.

This is kind of a shameless plug... but there are dinosaurs in Project Vex as a playable "race."  

They get classified with Drakes and Dragons.
