I experimented with Witch Hunting when I was younger. The hats with buckles were neat, and it's good for people who like setting fires. Still, the hours sucked.

Seriously, I'm not a fan of this woman but lots of people experiment with spirituality in their youth. Does it matter one way or another?

I am very much NOT into the tea party but it shows you the mentality of Washington when someone has to pick on a woman's spiritual journey and compare it to her leadership in the government.

Go after her leadership records but this is hitting below the belt regardless.

It's really fortunate that most of us don't have to answer for the things we thought and did when we were kids. I've done many things in the past that are diametrically opposed to the views I hold today.

I'm perfectly fine with dismissing the things from O'Donnel's past that she says were only the product of a curious and misguided youth. It's the things she believes and doesn't ask us to dismiss that prevent me from supporting her in any way as a candidate.

Maher obviously released this video in an attempt to turn conservative voters off of O'Donnell.  If she were a liberal Democrat this would fall under the umbrella of, "What business is it of yours?  This is her private life and should have no bearing on her ability to hold office."  It's a cheap shot, but perfectly acceptable.  Almost every election this November is going to be decided on the role of government in our lives.  O'Donnell is for smaller more restricted government, her opponent (whatever his name is) is for the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda.  So I say release whatever you got on the candidates and let the chips fall where they may.

She dabbled in something other than Christianity when she was younger. I wouldn't necessarily put that against her. 

Not voting for her because she wants to merge Church and State. Absolutely. I wouldn't touch her vote with a 10 foot cattle prod (not because it is religious per say but because religion and government has no business being bed mates...no matter the religion). But I wouldn't attack a spiritual journey someone had in the past. It's too odd to me.

If they were off limits for both or open grounds for both, you wouldn't hear a peep from me about this. It's the doublestandard of what matters and what doesn't. Case in point... didn't the O-man have issues with his religion which were returned as NOYB? Even as Mitt ALSO had issues with something as mundane as Mormonism? It would be nice if the same curtosy was given across the spectrum... or denied across it. Iether way would be good. (and frankly, I didn't give a damn about it either beyond the WTF play by the same rules, dammit!)
