CCP has announced PLEX for Good: Pakistan running from September 15-October 6, 2010. During the event, players have the opportunity to donate PLEX to an official C C P Plex for Good character. The campaign is being organized to assist people in Pakistan, a nation devestated this summer during the monsoon. Over 25 million people have been rendered homeless or were injured during the floods. Money generated will be donated to Pakistan's Red Crescent Society.

Another player might have bought a GTC to put that PLEX on the market, but that is a person who has determined they have that disposable income. Given EvE's PLEX system, this does sorta "let the rich pay". -mklinic "There's a point I think we're missing. |

Hell no. As I recall isnt this the same place that is a Haven for every enemy/terrorist of the free world? If we are gonna rearm our enemies can we at least get a receipt? Now I am all for good causes I dontated when the earthquake hit in haiti. This however is an entirely diffrent situation.

PLEXing for evil is more accurate. This aid will likely not be shared with the non-muslim minorities. http://www.pakistanchristianpost.com/viewnews.php?newsid=1653 http://tribune.com.pk/story/40435/the-politics-of-relief-aliens-in-their-own-land/
And while they ask for help from the non-muslim world they continue to take Christian and hindu girls as sex-slaves: Pakistan is a corrupt apartheid state. Much of the funds they receive will end up only benefiting the ruling class. And what aid does not will simply cement their religious apartheid system. Giving them money without having the decency to demand they stop slavery and stop attacking minorities is nothing but evil and stupidity. |

Whilst I personally don't agree with it and as such I will not be buying any PLEX, I commend CCP for their ethical intentions. They have given everyone fair warning about it so for those of us not in agreement with it, it shouldn't be an issue as you simply don't buy any PLEX. Future: GW2/DF Relaunch/WoD |

what a bunch of sad replies here, if you dont want to help then dont, no one is forcing you. but to say you dont help people who have done nothing wrong because some other people share their country is just sad. |

Originally posted by bunnyhopper I think you've missed a rather important point: You donate by giving your PLEX to an in-game character. Nothing to do with buying it in the first place. You can still buy and use your PLEX as normal and nothing will be donated. |

if you send money to the SWAT valley, home of the Taliban what do you think that money will be spent on? Pakistan has a massive army and nuclear weapons, It created the Afghan taliban and it ferments unrest in kashmir and india. let them sort their own house out. |

Originally posted by sloeber If you're not rich enough to donate a PLEX then don't. I am sure plenty of "rich" people play EVE. It's a fairly diverse game. CCP is doing a good thing. Just because you're sick of hearing about it doesn't mean people don't need help. The only way to get them help is to create as many avenues for assistance as possible. In short, get over it. The minor inconvenience you feel from seeing news about Pakistan is orders of magnitude smaller than the grief Pakistanis feel who've lost entire villages to mudslides. |

All I can say is I hope that only the people that need the help get the donations and no one else. I can't help but thing about after the haiti earthquake disaster there where some players posing as some kind of donation service when it really was a scam. I know its kinda unrelated but that makes me sick thinking about it. |
