Okay sure I was upset about being accused of promoting illegal activity. It's like getting charged with some crime that you are innocent of, I was upset yeah perhaps this wasn't the most ideal way of going about it. I should have just been like oh well you cant fight city hall. Why would I get so upset about this unless I was wrongfully accused. If i had done something against the NDA I would have just been like oh whops got caught, oh well. Instead of emailing them multiple times and trying to get to the bottom of it. |

Next time you should'nt call your buddy up to come watch you play the game over your shoulder. That would be a violation of the agreement |

I'm gonna call troll on this one. Nothing but the same remarks slightly reworded for the last 15 comments by the OP. I'm out. I suggest y'all do the same. |

Lol jk I live in a basement that I have tranformed into a dungeon. I don't have friends or see the light of day, my only friends are my magic cards and I doubt any of them reported me, unless they can speak, which I have tried to enchant them and perhaps they have come to life. |

Unfortunatly for you posting in this forum has probably destroyed any chance you may have had of fixing the issue. In future if you have a issue with a company over a unfair banning follow these simple common sense rules :-
1) Appeal using the offical channels
2) Wait a reasonable amount of time (upto 2 weeks is reasonable)
3) Remember your not a major concern of theirs and if you make to much of a stink its easier to just perma ban you than deal with you.
4) Be polite and conherent in your correspondance. A well written statement of your case and situation recieves a far better response than swearing and threats.
5) Lastly do not under AND circumstances post anything concerning the situation on a public forum
Follow these 5 simple rules and your chances of fixing the issue are greatly increased (especially fi your innocent). breka them and even being innocent may bot be enough. Gadareth

Not just given the unfinished game to run around in. Testing takes time, patience and cunning if you're doing it right. That's another flaw in the MMO development system IMO. Originally posted by Darthyoyo Yeah I was just joking. It sucks to get banned, at the same time don't let it taint your oppinion of the game. I assumed BioWare would be pretty harsh on their policies, considering how closed they are about information and the protection of their licensed property. You didn't happen to post this did you? xD |

Before getting your panties in a wad you might wanna give them some more time to respond. Believe it or not you probably are not high on their priority list of things to do ASAP. " its been 4 hours" lol. |

The only thing you can say about beta, is say you are in the beta. That's all that bioware said you can mention on their website. So if you let slip that you were, let's say, playing a Bounty Hunter, they could if they so choose, to ban you. Now, I don't care to search your posts here, or at swtor.com, but maybe you should check to see if you accidently let slip something like that. Maybe you even said, "it doesn't work like that in the game". Or maybe you are just one of those people that drive faster then the speed limit says you can, and because you weren't caught before, think it was okay to do it again. And then when you get caught, you B & M. Or maybe you posted on some site you thought was "safe and hidden", but they knew about it. |

Originally posted by tillamook No I did not post, that. Lol.
THanks for everyones constructive criticism, I didn't come here to flame, or rag on Bioware. Some of you were skeptical I understand. In the end I supposed this thread brought up bigger concepts, like what it means to be a public game tester.

It's called a NDA (NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT) and you signed it when you accepted and registered the code, or were you too busy clicking yes to everything? |

Originally posted by Darthyoyo My thought is that it depends on what they mean by "illegal activity". My second thought is "what WERE you discussing". Now, don't go blabbing that on these forums as you don't want to get banned here as well, but why would they single you out? You might not think you did anything wrong but maybe you did something that another might be construed as wrong? In any case, 4 hours is not enough time to process your rebuttal. I would say a day or so.
It's not like you are the only thing they need to address during the beta test. And I certainly hope that you responded like an adult and were polite as opposed to calling them thought police? |

Game developers are not stupid. All they have to do is ask the mmorpg.com staff the i.p. address of the original poster of the thread, and if it matches an ip in their tracking system, then you seriously screwed up and I doubt you'll ever get your permissions back to play. Don't mean to sound negative here, but I'm almost positive that the appeals process for getting unbanned doesn't included trying to plead your case in the court of public opinion on MMORPG.com Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product." |
