Watching the mmo report today it appears you only get full experiance points for 8 hours a week then reduced xp for a further 7 hours then none . So does this make it an mmo thats only worth playing for 15 hours a week ? or are there other things to do when you cant gain anymore experiance that week ? This seams a rather prohibative and confusing policey if true .

you get BONUS xp for 8 hours, then that reduces until you just get NORMAL xp for the rest of the time. You do not get 0 XP.

It is a definite no,i see the same lazy trends and poor console game design i have seen over the last few years from Square.

I can get a much better version of a questing game in EQ2.GuildLeves are not done well, they are cumbersome for no reason and the usual boring quests you see in any game.

Square was even too lazy to add in tutorial text on a tutorial NPC,why even bother? All you see is 4x [en],wtf is [en]? There is probably no tutorial as there will be a manual that comes with the game (as with all the final fantasy games) - as far as I am aware there will not be any digital download. So there is no need for one.

IMO this game is NOT in BETA stage it is not ready for Beta but is more like Alpha stage.

auto run+load map=crash.load one of the many cutscenes is quite possible a crash. At times i couldn't even open a door that others are walking through.I couldn't even attack a tutorial mob, took about 15 minutes before the game finally let me attack one, kept saying invalid target ,ya right.  This could be that you have inaddequate specs, bad connection - or the fact that the game is currently STRESS TESTING.

Way too many loading scenes,it has the complete feel of FFXIII,linear paths Linear OMG what, I would class this more in the balpark of inbetween sandbox and themepark ,tons of CS's.The look is exactly like FFXII,pretty much the exact same setup.I wanted something similiar to the great design/setup of FFXI,this game is a throwback to console days. You still can't interact with anything outside that linear path, you are trapped from any freedom,no climbing over rocks or over railings,no jumping[we knew this]no entering water, just a console game 101,no improvement at all from FFXI,i actually find it to be worse. Yes I agree that its a console game running on PC, But I am wondering if you understand what linear means.

ONLY good thing from this game is the graphics, well of course the custscenes are brilliant ,this is pretty much what i expected before the game was released and it is pretty much what i figured before i even entered the game.Peeve of mine is that even some of the normal NPC must load a scene and they don't have any voice over either ,just seems like way too much loading of screens. The only loading is the main quest line, teleporting and the odd couple of specific instances. From what I have played so far its a seemless world.

I'll wait for the PS3-Release because that's clearly what Square had in mind for this game. Sad, but that's how it is. I would have dropped it like a hot potatoe as soon as cataclysm, Guild Wars 2 or Star Wars: TOR would arrive anyway, but now, i'd rather endure another 1-80 in wow, than playing this unfinished and unpolished heap of dung.

I hope you do not think that playing the open beta that you are playing the "finish product" by any means. Yes the open beta is a stress test but SE is holding back things. If you guys would have played during Closed beta you would realize all of the things that they added from just under a month, so quit pretending your are getting a free inside scoop to the whole game because your not even close.

As for the thread Yes I will be playing. It is shaping up to be a great game. I played during closed beta and I loved it.. All the people that are smack talking this game will be sorry in 2 or 3 months when they are so far behind us that decided to play at launch. This game is going to be worth the money. Awesome graphic, awesome storyline, cool classes, and fun combat and these are the things that should matter to you when you consider trying this game.

Sounds like you have one outdated computer, as I rarely get loading screens.

Lets see what happens in december ^^

As much as I wanted to love this game I can't see me paying for it. The controls for the PC and lack of content right now are my biggest concerns. I will wait and see if they have this miracle patch at release then decide then.

Yes. I will be playing. The mouse issue wil be a game breaker for me if they don't do something about it soon though. I would very much like to spend time in this game and see my character 'grow' again. Something I haven't done in an MMO for several years.

Here's to hoping.

The interface, and mainly the mouse is just unacceptable at this point.  It feels more like I'm browsing for files in windows explorer than playing a game, and that combined with the insanely laggy mouse sucks all the fun out of the game.   With a hack and slash warrior it's not quite as bad since you spend less time interacting with the UI menus.  Harvesting needs to be simplified.  You have to click the white icon, select a location, click chop, click to stop the swing, and repeat.  Why can't all of this be in one menu in the same location?  Why have a menu at all, just have the icon pop up in front of you.  This breaks immersion.

The player models and graphics are great, but I'm quickly realizing that everyone looks the same.  It reminds me of L2 a bit with only a few hair styles and faces.  Nobody likes bumping into their clone.

I'm not giving up yet.  I'll keep playing and hope they patch up the interface/mouse issues, as they are really the only deal-breaker for me atm.  They are certainly getting enough feedback, and it all seems to be sending the same message.

No.

This game is remarkably and beautifully out dated.

The archaic user interface sealed the deal for me, not playing at launch.

I will be sticking with my CE Pre-order.

I've never played any FF game online or offline so my whole experience is based purely on what I've played so far in OB and I really like it.

I'm still debating it.  I currently have the CE on pre-order.  There is a lot about the game I really love, but I want to keep plaything through this week and see how well I can adapt to the interface and controls (which I think are horrid at the moment).

I'm realy on the fence.  I really want a new MMO to play as i'm tired of everything else, but these asian created games scare the hell out of me for the simple fact that asians seems to LIKE mindless grinding.  If that's the case in this game then no thanks, the combat is too slow and dull to spend time grinding.  If this game had alot of story type quests yeah i'd play it.  But i go to this games website and i'm trying to even figure out what it has.  There's no feature list of what's in the game.  Even playing the game i'm a little confused as to what exactly the point is.

I am really enjoying OB, so I will be playing...though probably less than five hrs per day because I have a job and social life.
