The trouble with that idea is that the BML on the far right is just too blatantly wearing heavy armour.. The engi/gunner/newclass has to be an adventurer, shame really as your siege engineer idea sounds pretty fun. |

i've read couple of posts mentioning monks... there will be no monks at all in gw2 (Healing and death in gw2) |

Originally posted by SonicTHI From this, I think (as he said, towards the bottem), the concept art shows a mesmer (always pink or purple), an assassin, and another warrior like class (notice the different color). I think mesmer will still have the same name, but the assassin might gain a different name. As to the other heavy armor class, there are so many names to choose from. The final class, as we have seen lots of guns in the game already, would most likely involve that. |

before gamescom allot of my friends where trying to convince me that the profession to the bottum left of the elementalist on the guild wars 2 website, would be an assasin... they assumed this because he was hunched over and looked to have spiky long hair like the assasins from guild wars 1, but sadly it was all just speculation based off of concept art that was aparently "leaked." at this point its anybodys guess. Personally if the monk made a comeback as some type of melee warrior who uses smiting, I could live with that. And if they do bring back the mesmer you can expect it will be a much different profession in comparison to guild wars 1, just like the new necromancer in guild wars 2 is much different from the first game's. |

One of the new classes I can see them making is a soldier type class based on monk's smiting prayer, monk/dervish type of enchantment spells, and dervish's avatar transformation. Also, there might be some of paragon's echoes and chants. Basically, a class which revolves around holiness, pious attitude, and serving higher beings. Another new class they will most likely make is adventurer type profession which centers around firearms and/or new technology in general. As to what exactly it will do, anyone's guess is as good as mine. Could be already mention in topic engineer or archivist or even something new entirely. However, considering that ranger has a pet, AoE skills, and was described as jack-of-all-trades, I'll assume that 'gunman' class will be more single target oriented with high damage, low attack, crappy defense and/or snares. As for two 'coming back' classes then I'll agree with majority here: First is mesmer for scholars family which will probably become a support caster with a variety of buff/debuffs, health drains, and mantras in its arsenal. Also, this class is another good choice to adopt paragon's chants and ritualist's item spells. On the same note, since it was mentioned that there are no more hexes in GW2 and this class' concept art features a big fan, then mesmer hexes could, very well, have been replaced with dances of some sort. Second 'will be back' class, imho, is assassin which is adventurer type job. I guess it will remain as a glass-cannon which can inflict a shitload of conditions almost instantly. The only changes I can see happening here, is that this job will obtain weapon spells from ritualist's as part of its mechanic. ............................................................................................................... |

They've talked about there being renamed professionsa and new ones. If they meant plural on both then two have to be renamed and two brand new, there is no more room for returning professions with the same names. Mesmer, assassin, dervish, paragon, riatualist are all out as far as names go. There are no spears (paragon's weapon) or scythes (dervish's weapon). They of course could have professions that mix GW1 professions with new names. At least one of the remaing 4 has to use pistol since that weapon is known to be in the game.

Originally posted by RameiArashi I suspect that one of the adventurer classes will be one oriented with guns, as rangers cant use them and warriors already can, and puting a gun oriented profession in the scholar area seems contradictory. |

Originally posted by Ablestron They could, though, make a gun class be a soldier type. Kinda like paragon's are, they have spears and they have 80 armor like warriors. ............................................................................................................... |

Originally posted by RameiArashi Which could be true. Mesmer could return under another name, combining abilities from another class. Just the art work has that pinkish hue, which leads it self to mesmer like abilities. |

I don't know about the second soldier class (or, at least the mace woman depicted in this concept art) being a "pious" character, because I'm not sure how well that would work lore-wise, considering how every race can play as any profession. I can't imagine many Asura running around preaching fidelity to Dwayna, after all. Though, with that in mind, I'd like to see how it would work if such a class were to be implemented. Perhaps they could rework it depending on which race you select, and the "higher power" that you worship could change or even be selectable as part of your character biography. Oh well. In the end, it's all speculation, anyway. |

Originally posted by Cortez992 You see, there's something that people don't understand. The characters don't need to have skills named after dwayna, they can have that in their Racial skills, that's why I think dervishes CAN still make a return because all of their skills can be converted into normal skills while the avatars could become Racials. With that logic, the mace lady can work in all races. This is not a game. |

Originally posted by Zeroxin Hm? From what I've read about racial skills, it doesn't say anywhere that they change depending on your profession. I might be missing something, however, so please, correct me if I'm wrong. If racial skills do not change depending on profession, then my concern still exists. Mace lady can work in all races, but if she's the "pious" character that was speculated in other posts, then it might be a bit difficult for her abilities and backstory to work with every race. Perhaps I should research this further... |

Originally posted by Ablestron well, Humans worship six gods. Sylvari can call to a Ventari (<- centaur who planted their mother tree) or Ronan (<- human who helped Ventari). Since Asura believe in Eyternal Alchemy, that can server as their 'divine influence'. Norn would respect animal spirits. And char could have a list of things to help them be pious about, their Legion, the female char who defeated shamans, technology, etc. ............................................................................................................... |

Am lazy and didn't read the thread past the first page, but if one would bother to look @http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Professions_reveal you'll see that the mesmer art and the unnamed plate wearing chika align very well with 2 of the spots on the right side of the profession reveal tableau. I'd guess mesmer and some sort of plate wearing spell caster type. Not sure on the other two, though I hope the Dervish makes an appearance. |

As an big follower on my sites and such of guild wars 2 I can all but confirm (based on speculation, concept art, and interviews) that the remaining four are Mesmer Assassin Paladin (the name is unknown but it's a combination of a Monk/Paragon/Warrior currently being referred to as "The Blue Mace Lady") Engineer (mini turrents (replacing Ritualist spirits) as well as guns, bombs, and so on.) |

Originally posted by Cortez992 The BML would be a guardian of sorts, what she uses is magic and magic that permeates the world of tyria. She doesn't necesarily have to call down balthazar in order to protect you, she just has to use magic in the way she knows how to. Yes, racials definitely allow you to customize builds from one race to another but Anet has said these skills are less powerful than the core skills the professions have available to them making it somewhat balanced since the professions may always have something similar to what racial skills can do. I do think it would be cool if the avatars make a return even if the Norn can shapeshift. It would be cool to be able to turn the tide of battle by turning into the Avatar of Balthazar and unleashing devastation for a short period of time. This is not a game. |

I agree with your paladin description ... but the class name will be different.... Technollogy is not advanced enough for an engineering class.... Assura use magic to build their mechanical constructs... and the char are just only developing basic pre steam engine technollogy.... so that leaves us clueless about the last class, all we know is that it will wield guns for sure...
