I have been at work today and haven't checked my computer, but last night I was only getting 0-30kbs download speed on the beta client. I heard that maybe it should improve today. Anyone know whether that's the case? Otherwise, is there a workaround (i.e. opening certain ports, as some have said) to improve the download rate? If someone knows the procedure for doing that in Win7, I would appreciate the info. |

It has been going for 9h now on a 35 mbs connection i can get a 700meg file in about 15 min.
For a torrent based client download the speeds are horrendous and they are not capping my upload speed so like most users in NA it is saturating my download stream.
If this was a torrent i got from a website I would delete it and find a better one. It is averaging about 30 KBs bout as fast as a 56k connection......
I am sure they are busy but thats what makes torrent distribution great the more you have the faster it goes....... so why isnt it going fast? My upload rate has been maxed sinceI opened the client so If it can max my upload the why will it only download @ 30 KBs.
Looking foreward to the game for sure but come on I dont get warm feelings when the updater takes 24h to download its updates. |

I still get very slow speeds with this torrent, and I also have the official SE tracker rejecting me. Someone told me to remove it from my tracker list, and now that its gone I don't know if that was the right thing to do or not. Either way it kept rejecting me.
Any idea? -Computer specs no one cares about: check. -MMOs played no one cares about: check. -Xfire stats no one cares about: check. -Signature no one cares about: check. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

Y'all need to open your ports. Why are you here anyway? The test forums are million times better for asking questions related to the testing.

The Utorrent Fix mentioned earlier in this thread works wonders. Give it a whirl. |

I downloaded the file with utorrent but my ffxiv updater doesnt seem to recognize it. What folder should the file be in and the folder is called d96437e6 correct or is it the patch folder? Thanks for any help. |

I finally figured out how to turn off the FiOS firewall and then things picked up to 500-1000 kb/s.
