As long as Blizzard advertises "over 1 million players worldwide" it would sell like hotcakes... Even if it uses the same exact aged engine as World of Warcraft.. Blizzard fans are Blizzard fans.. Same goes for Diablo... “There are dread secrets that none may know and have peace. More, secrets that render whosoever knoweth them an alien unto the tribe he belongs to, that cause him to walk alone on earth, for he who takes, pays.” -E. Hoffmann Price |

In a sense the game already is a RTSMMOG. Just don't see the translation of making it an MMORPG as the whole series is based on the conflict and change in the game. |

Porn Fans = Videogame Fans in scope. Blizzard fans = Naughty America fans. And yes Naughty America fans would enjoy My First Sex Teacher as much as Naughty Office.

A simple truth-"What people want and what is good for an mmo is not always the same thing"-mrw0lf |

I think it would make a better 3 sided MMORTS type game a la Planetside. It should be more focused around battle and combat, with resource gathering a 2ndary afterthought much like the single player game. "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

YES, i am a blizzard fan......but they should heve never made WOW imo, it should have been World of starcraft all along. I REALY hope they make a NEW MMORPG instead of keeping their diablo, Starcraft and warcraft themes.....even as a Blizzard fan i am kinda bored out at the moment with these three series.......be creative Blizz and give us something NEW pls. my two cents |

Originally posted by sloeber They are. For years now, Blizzard has been developing their "Next Gen" MMO using a new IP. Some people think it's going to be Steampunk, some say it's going to be an FPS based game, but it's going to be new story, world, characters, etc. I'd actually be interrested to see something like Universe of Starcraft, especially if there were three faction RvR like in DaoC. |

I think they only way for this too work would for be for a new team too do it. Lets face it SC's team is made up of alot of WoW's and I don't want them too ruin this with WoW with machine guns. I love WoW I love SC... but I don't want them to be the same game. Truly I don't think Blizzard could handle a SC MMO I think it would strike out on comparision too its RTS. |

It would be a tri-faction mmo which is something a lot of people are dying for. The characters will be a pita to develop though...i for one am not roleplaying a zerling.

Originally posted by Kyleran Yes, I could already see players, or better yet, guilds competting for city domminance by setting up structures and automated city defenses and doing guild-mass resource gathering. One wonders if they'll do it like AoC or DF, or if they'll allow any area possilble to create guild city-states controlled not just by race but by specific guilds... Thanks for the inspiration, Kyleran. |

I see a few parallels with SC2 and WC3.... The engine used for WC3 was heavily modified and used for WoW. I'd be willing to bet that blizzard designed the engine for SC2 to be versatile enough to be able to be used for their next MMO as well. I definitey see a SCMMO in the works or at the very least a new MMO from blizzard using the same engine as what is in SC2. Blizzard does not innovate, blizzard takes the best ideas from other developers and refines those ideas. Part of why their games always seem so polished is because they never have to spend any resources on actually coming up with something new. All of their resources are spent on polishing what is already out there. They have a game library full of every single game ever made that employees can borrow from. Blizzard are great craftsmen, not artists in the sense that they create something new. |
