Again blizzard is able to use it's base of ignorant fanboys to sell a product. SC2 came out 5 years ago, it was called Dawn of War... |

Originally posted by Sauronas I know SC1 came before any of the Dawn of Wars... Its not hard to use google try it sometime. I would love too listen too your story on how dawn of war somehow leaped from 2004 too 1997 (before SC1). Does it hurt too bad that your game came second and is played by way fewer people? If you are refering too the board game Warhammer 40k yes it came first... but this is a Video game thread not a stupid little board game thread. |

Originally posted by Sauronas Dawn of War? Isn't that that game that faded into obscurity years ago and had a horrible sequel that killed any chance for another? I's ok not to like a game but when you have to resort to calling people names you've stepped over into trolling. SC2 would have been a success if the only place you could buy it was in Seoul, South Korea. Yeah it's that popular. So you dont like this game and call people fanboys. Good for you. Maybe next time you can be something other than a generic troll, and actually try to come up with better insults.
Calling one a "fanboy" for liking a game or company is really getting stale guys. Lets try and do something new.. ya know.. really get the blood boiling. |

Nope, won't effect me. Don't play RTS, I tried WC and never finished that one, that was enough for me to never touch that genre again. And they basically all are the same from command and conqueer to SC. For some reason I just don't enjoy them. |

Is it just me or I'm the only one so incredible tired of all these RTS games? Startcraft 2 looks like any other generic RTS game, might have better looking intro but.. meh.. RTS games have basicly been the same since Dune 2. |

Originally posted by mCalvert Strategic zoom doesn't make those games better. SC2 offers fast paced, actio orientated gameplay where as Supreme Commander is a much more drawn out experience. |

Is it just me or do zerg rushes seen a bit boring? Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981 |

Originally posted by HYPERI0N I found supcom to be all about building the biggest army rather than the right kind of army - never felt in control of my units as they kinda just flew around doing their own thing, I like RTS games where just a few units can turn the tied of a battle I get that in SC1/2 never got that in supcom. Not saying supcom is bad, it's just not my thing and I never found it strategic. |

Originally posted by expresso You are right a lot of supcom 1 players did this....they were my favourate opponents as they were fun to beat. Afterall whats the use of a superheavy experimental when a few well positioned bait defences and a tac nuke worked very well. Another great example of Moore's Law. The only RTS series I can stomach these days is the Total War franchise. I'm sure Sc2 will do quite well in the coming months, though I never really saw the appeal in any of Blizzards RTS games. That may have more to do with how I feel Blizz ripped off the WAR Ip as well as 40k than the actual game itself though. Originally posted by Serenes Dawn of war is in NO way a rip off of sc. Obviously you never played dow so you obviously wouldn't know wtf I'm talking about when it comes to the mechanics used in sc 2. You're not old enough or smart enough to understand what real RTS vets are talking about so go back to the battle.net forums with the rest of the retards. |
