Crazy thread, this one. The OP's problem is has not put enough time into any game to realize whether it is worth keeping or not.
A bit of advice: if you are looking for a game to enjoy, first decide what catgory you prefer: sci-fi, fantasy (eastern), fantasy (western), historic, post-apocaliptic, etc. If you like to raid against bosses pick a pve game. If you like to spar, pick a pvp-based game Then, choose a game that came out in the last couple of years, has a good public reputation and is a big-name developer. Even possibly one of the ones you gave up on already. Finally, play the damn thing for at least 60 -90 days, make friends, join a guild, get to max level, etc. They are called MMO for a reason - it is the people that make these games fun. If you can't find a group of people to run around with then MMO is not for you, or need therapy or anti-anxiety medication.
Just some friendly advice :) |

Holy crap sir, your dedication to the gaming industry is unparalled! The future is bright in MMO's as fast as I can tell, many new directions will start to open up. Keep at it and let us know if one sticks!

Oh, and playing a free trial of a game does not do any game proper justice. Reading too much into your 5 day experience could result in you missing out of some future epic gaming
I see you like Age of Empires. You should try Starcraft 2 then, it should be a very popular rts game and it is coming out this month if it hasn't already I think |

I mean this very seriously and from a place of empathy....
Maybe the problem isn't with the games. I know, might sound harsh, but I'm serious. That sort of list for a bunch of non-online console games wouldn't alarm me, but with online games the list is a bit... off. Online games are often a matter of dedicating time and effort. Maybe they just aren't your cup of tea, and try as you might you're sub-concious is rejecting playing them.
Your post and behavior reminds me of times in my life when I was bored and restless (and often depressed) when I would install and play a ton of new and old games, but only play for a bit before the game just wasn't any good and I would try to find a new one. I'm saying maybe gaming isn't what you're looking for, isn't what's going to keep you interested and fullfilled as a person.
I mean, if you had a list of books like that where you only ever read a fourth or a half of the book, and were 'desperate' to find a book worth reading, I would probably suggest you find something else to do. There's nothing wrong with not gaming (seriously, it's probably a good thing not to, hah). You're not coming close to meeting the potential time most of those games can offere in entertainment, and to me that's something to take note of the same way as someone that jumps from job to job or relationship to relationship. Maybe take a break, don't play any games, see if another hobby can't keep your interest and fill that spot in your life you seem desperately trying to fill. And my point isn't to say 'durr, just quit' but to let you know it's perfectly okay to do so! You don't NEED a game to play as I'm sure there are plenty of other things you can do. :)
And good luck finding a game, or whatever it is you're looking for.
I will say that I doubt Mortal Online will be good. It gives a milion and one reasons for people to NOT keep playing, so if you're already predisposed to game-hop you might want to just save the time and money.
According to a Facebook quiz, I'm a genius. |

I would say pick a couple games out of all of those so that you can get your different fix for when you are in different moods.
Darkfall should definitely be in that list though because nothing else can replace it. Funnest combat there is . ..! You obviously are willing to play FPS and RPG games so why not combine the two?
Why would Darkfall be a requirement if you want a taste of everything: - It is also the best open world that exists. The world is huge and feels hand-crafted without instances or invisible walls. You can barely feel loading into different chunks and areas compared to other games that tried to accomplish this. - No 100% safe zones. FFA PVP with full-loot. - Funnest Sandbox to play at the moment. Player-made holdings and an economy player driven. The future is very unpredictable because you make your own path and other people will interfere with that path . .. you never know what to expect when you log in for a long playing session. - Biggest adrenaline rush that I have found on the market. Success and failure is strong is this one! Risk vs Reward. - No aiming . .. no fluff like red circles around mobs, floating numbers, floating names, etc. Player-skill is a big factor.
If you really want to whole MMO experience than this game is required. Other games are so bland and emotionless in comparison imho.
You would want another side game for the following: - Something to play while harvesting/crafting in Darkfall for AFK gains. LOL jk - Something that feels safe without much death penalty so that you can chill and eat and do not have to worry about getting up to use the bathroom. - Something with immediate PVP action. For me this is Guildwars and Global Agenda but I think that I may just replace Global Agenda with Call of Duty.
I like every game but this one really has a lot to offer that no other game does but it may take a couple months to get the most out of it. NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do. |

I downloaded many rts trials. I didn't like total war because I didn't like the way it was set battles. I loved sup com 2 Hated Ruse Company of heroes was alright I didn't like the way the whole game revolved around those capture points.
I will probaly buy sup com 2 and c&C4 when it comes out, don't worry I will be back on the mmo seen in si months or so to check on mortal and other releases |

Originally posted by Ozivois My thoughts exactly, see plenty of worthwhile games there. Only 13hrs into the first Assassin's Creed? That game was impossible to put down when it first came out, since there was nothing like it then, unless of course you played it a year or so after the fact. Starting to think the OP really must not care much for games in general. Like someone else said already - think he needs to find a new hobby >.< |

Yumping Yiminy that is a lot of games.
Although I have to admit having done this where I try something and within an hour I leave like Lineage and Horizons come to mind. Well there is also the fact that some games have no way of showing you much until you get into it a bit more. This a flaw perhaps that prevents people from staying for the good parts or does it filter out people who will not stay .Either way not good for the game if you do not stay. Looking for a game on the other hand you must invest some time and discover it. If you just read about a game you may gain some horrid impressions of it without learning anything about what makes it good to some. So while reading up look for the narrations of people who enjoy the game and what aspects make them like it. Try to get at least to the parts they say they liked and gauge your liking from that vantage point. You must never short change yourself just because a huge number of vocal people say a game is bad but you read in depth postings by others who talk about what they liked and they gave examples and in detail when the people who trashed the game gave one sentence reviews. If you are not willing to spend your time and learn about a game before you pass sentence on it then you will be doomed to wander from game to game. Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

....keeping in mind the OP is talking about MMO games only, and ONLY plans to quit MMO games if nobody can give him any out of the box suggestions..... let's also always keep in my the shocking fact that people look for different things in games, and just cuz you found an MMO that satisfies you doesn't mean there are any that could satisfy him.....
....to summarize the last few messages and quite a few previous ones.... "doesn't matter if the first bite tastes like crap, you have to eat at least 1/2 of the crap log before you can REALLY figure out if you like the taste of crap or not" The End |

I still say to give Mabinogi a shot. The graphics may seem a bit cartoony, but they are no-where near as Disney-Channel cartoony as WoW, and there is so many things that you can do. |

Yeah, that happens in every game, if you haven't noticed. You can turn off that part of the messages to that it isn't as annoying.
Still has lots to do, and once you turn 20 (I'm 2 weeks away), you can choose to do a rebirth that resets your level and age for free, but you keep your stats and skills. |

Originally posted by willo248 since i last posted here, i checked out the closed beta test 1 of Divine Souls. only played about 10 minutes then didn't try to login again until CBT1 ended (wish i'd known, so i could really played it).
the gameplay is quite different. a beat 'em up or brawler type fighting game, and it was quite populated. both the city and a forest that i zoned into. so definitely sign up & check that out when CBT2 starts. also Valkyrie Skye if you like scrolling arcade shoot 'em ups. The End |
