Lineage II players who want to check out the upcoming Freya update will want to log into the public test server beginning on July 29th. The interactive Freya site will also go live that day. Devs have a lot of activities planned for the public test server.

Over the years, PTS has been an exciting time when players can first make contact with new features and content in an update. Also, they can create high-level characters that will be privy to the newest armor and weapons, and everyone gets to have a unique and fun experience. This year, we are increasing the amount of GM participation with players, and we have scheduled more events than ever before!

The game that started me on MMOs....I miss the original L2...now it's being dumbed down to the level of WoW.

i agree its a good game still .... would be a great game if they got a better handle on the economy, and actively hunted and banned bots. Most of the lvl 80+ people on my old server botted their way up.

I don't play it anymore because of the economy.

I just hate making money in mmo's and as you know, L2 has a huge money component. It ceased being fun for me because of this.

I installed it a few months ago to see if I could start playing again but after looking at the prices for S80 gear decided that I was officially done.

L2 is definitely not for the faint of heart.  Yes the botting is a problem and frustrating.  Yes the economy is frustrating.  But as the old saying goes, "it takes a village."  That's what L2 is for me.  It's a social venue where I have relationships that have endured years with people I've met in the game.  I hope the new update does it service.

i agree with the social aspect of L2, rarely have i ever had so much fun socializing in an mmo. But with problems in the game comes friends leaving the game. And you can only socialize so much before you need to level, and you can only level so much until you need to buy new overpriced gear. All we can hope for now is that NCsoft is developing a L3, from what they've shown in aion, it seems they are getting a better understanding of economy in games and the leveling system.

Now that is a joke, NCSoft understanding theexistence of a MMO economy.  I will be shocked if I ever see that.

tbh if you compare L2's economy (or lack of one) to aion's, you can see they learned a bit. Not saying the aion economy is awesome, just saying its not nearly as bad as L2's.
