Hello,
After an investigation, our fraud team has identified that your account has applied a fraudulently obtained product key. Subsequently, we have been forced to terminate this account.
As a result of the termination, you will be unable to access any part of the All Points Bulletin service including the action districts, social districts, and APB forums. Moreover, your account will not be refunded any outstanding RTW points or game time.
All Points Bulletin strives to have a fair and transparent system for account discipline. If you disagree with the removal or if you believe the removal from APB was in error, please email the administration team at support.apb.com. We will review the terms of your removal and investigate the events leading to the termination of the account.
Please let us know whether you have any questions.
Thanks,
APB Support Team

Think that your problem has happened to a few other people as well. The other times Steam was involved as well. |

Steam haven't replied. My Bank account shows the money leaving and they confirm its transfered. APB want to see ID, proof of adress and my reciept - Not really sure i want to send them all that info. Contacted steam to see whats happened, not sure if they will refund me my money :(
Never had this happen before. Shocking :s |

Is APB run by SOE? :P |

Try reading the official forums. This was a vender issue/mistake. No use running to a third part site to make an issue out of nothing. |

There's another thread here on mmorpg.com about a dude who got the exact same email, after he bought the game from steam, he contacted apb and got his account returned within 24 hours i think.
So don't panic, mistakes happen. I take what I want, when I want it. |

I had issues with Steam as well but mine were different entirely. My issue was once id download APB and go to launch it it would not do anything.I re-downloaded a bunch of times but for some reason Steam wasnt downloading the full version and not letting it launch.I then went to the APB website and downloaded it from there and used my Steam key and was up and running no time.Maybe others had this same issue? Im sure it wasnt anything on my part that caused the game not to run.Ive used Steam for 5 or 6 of the last pc games ive bought and had no issue.Hope you get you account situated.Sucks being banned for something out of your control. |

Well its been 30 hours so far with no reply. Still banned and can't play for a game i paid for. Sent a chaser email to them today, hopefully they will get back to me. I now see this is a common problem with APB, bit of a farce so far. |

Originally posted by Nirvy It was the weekend when you sent the initial email, so that explains the lack of a reply yet. I'd expect a response today.
On a related note- Should we as paying customers expect account/support service on the weekends? From the customer perspective I would say absolutely. However from a business perspective I understand that games have high development costs as well as high fixed costs, and adding weekend support would eat into what is for most games an already slim profit margin. Certainly WoW can afford to offer weekend services, but for a game with 100k subs, that weekend service would likely be a relevant and prohibitive expense. |

Originally posted by augustgrace I thikn account support should be open every day for a service that's on 24/7 (I don't mean only MMOs, but also banks, public transport ant the alike). Regular support for questions about game related things (in-game that is, quests, bugs and the alike) can be closed during the weekends...
@ OP I hope your issue is solved today |

Originally posted by augustgrace Well its now nearly midnight monday. By the time i wake up it will have been 48 hours. Appalling support. If this isnt sorted when i get hom from work tuesday i'll give it up and pray steam will refund me. |

EA sucks. |

Originally posted by Quailman Isnt it more likely in this case, that the problem originated with Steam, they were the ones who provided the key after all, so any mistakes involving that key they should be sorting out.. though as he's now had a refund, im guessing he turned down a replacement key? as for the drivers and teachers licence.. im not sure how they would help identify an online transaction... neither one is acceptable as personal identification without supporting material, like a passport for instance.. which is a valid form of identification. unlike the other two. falsifying one of those can land you in prison - irl.. with id theft being what it is.. you can hardly blame them if they arent prepared to accept things at face value.. |

Originally posted by Phry Isn't Steam owned by Valve, who is owned by EA? So in a way, it's still EA's fault (although RTW might handle all the billing issues for APB, I just like to blame EA for whatever I can). And a drivers license should be a perfectly acceptable form of ID. If I write "Please check ID" on the back of my credit card, the vendor will take my drivers license as proof. If RTW or whoever asked for a copy of some form of identification, it would be just as easy to fake a passport as a license since they aren't actually seeing the original of either. |

That sux, I defently feel for the op on this one. Im sure this is a relativly unique case though. Sometiumes things like this happen though, and the fun of it all is sorting it out or sticking it to them. I know how this feels though, and its not pleasant atal. Im suprized nothing got worked out in the end though except a refund. Were apb support not doing there jobs? Was this just an automated thing?

Originally posted by Quailman EA have done a lot over the years to earn their reputation.. personally i can't ever forgive them for canning Earth and Beyond.. though lately companies like Ubisoft etc and their dodgy DRM are far more deserving targets... |

Originally posted by Phry I hear ya. I really hate what EA, Activision and Ubisoft are doing to the gaming industry (or what's happening to the gaming industry in general), but I won't get into that now... |
