Lord of the Rings Online developers are looking for player input about the Hunter class. Turbine has three specific areas for which they are seeking input:

Such player-developer interactions make me regret ever leaving LOTRO because it went F2P...But with FFXIV on the horizon, I think I can make it. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Oldest mmorpg.com member with the least amount of post counts. Hunter was always considered a pretty good starter toon and it was my first one. After three years they are now looking for ways to make it better? Tubine should wait for the freebies to arrive then ask them what they want, they quit listening to sub payers a long time ago. |

Oh thats right, they "had no plans to make LOTRO F2P" so they didnt know it until the day of the announcement. I suppose you are a lifer that finds everything lovely? Or are you one of those that didnt like the game but now thats it will be free its wonderful? Either way, dissapointmen is just a cash shop item away. |

Yes I do have a lifetimes sub. I however didn't get mine until the first anniversary. A year later. And If I remember corectly Turbine has the right so stop selling the lifetime accounts anytime. The way I see it it is just good buisness. I have already seen forum dwellers crying over the lifetime they bought. Feeling they got cheated out of there money . Only to see the game go ftp/ptp. Most of them never read what the ftp/ptp system offered those who were lucky enough to buy the lifeime while they had the chance. Sounds like some are disgrunted now because they don't have that chance. But Turbine has never said Lifetime won't be back. Right Now they are testing the system so they can get it up an coming properly. I did find your Sarcasm humerous though. Good try... |

1. Change the name to Ranger. You will make thousands of people happy again 2. Offer some more...interesting attacks and (more importantly) animations and effects. Shooting arrows over and over again with only a slight (if any) deviation in effects or animations is about as interesting as it sounds.
Other than that i don't see a problem with the hunter. MMO wish list: -Changeable worlds |

They've been running these threads seeking input on each of the classes...Hunter is I think the third or fourth of them now, and it looks like they intend to eventually do a feedback thread for each of the classes. It's the same three questions, so players of other classes can think ahead about how to respond... |

With input on classes (Hunters this time) limited only to active LotRO subscribers, unless active, frustrated forum lurkers are relegated to serving their sour grapes only on fan sites like this one ... LOL. Hunters cannot be called Rangers in LotRO. Check the lore, then you'll understand why. The whole concept of applying the Turbine F2P model, which has proven to be wildly successful in DDO, is to allow players, new to LotRO, to try the game out by opening up a sizeable chunk of the game risk-free. Indications are that this business decision has been doing very well in LotRO as well. As an early closed beta player, it was a total no-brainer for me to accept Turbine's offer of a $199 Lifetime Founders Subscription when closed beta ended and the game released in April 2007. After a year and a half, the game paid for itself and became free to play forever more in the fall of 2008 LOL. Those complaining here serving us some bitter whine with their cheese, don't offer us much else but are, noetheless, amusing.

Originally posted by Philby While I'm not in Europe (even if I was, I'd play Turbine's own USA game on Americas Oceanic servers, never Codemasters) I can understand some dick-stepping by licensees. It's not uncommon -- there's some horrific instances, to be true, but as a long standing member of these forums yourself (nearly a whole month!) I am sure your interpretation must be considered by every reader to be absolutely accurate. |

Originally posted by Lizante Lifetime subs were being sold in Europe up until one week of the F2P announcement. The only thing left to interpretation is if you understand what this implies about the honesty of Warner Brothers. While this may not be illegal it is to say the least a bit of the old bait and switch. But having been on these forums so long im sure you know best. |

Please don't mess up Hunters. They are the only Ranger/Hunter/Archer class that hasn't been nerfed into oblivion. On another note, I am far more concerned with the purchase of Turbine by Time Warner than I am with the FTP/PTP system. Good ol' Time Warner screws up everything it touches. |

FYI , just because you checked 1 week before the anouncement to see if yoiu could buy a lifetime sub and weren't able to doesn't mean that that is the time turbine stopped selling them... I have a life sub and I tried to buy another sub months before the anouncement and they had stoppes already. So... unless you were checking every single day to see if the sub was still available please stop making such accusations otherwise, pleade tell me where you are getting your facts from. |

Originally posted by jesja I know a guy who wanted a lifte time and couldnt get one in the U.S. He bought one and is playing on a EU server. This took place a week or maybe two before the announcement. If you want to verify this check the LOTRO Forums I think that could be where I read that they stopped selling them one week before announcing F2P. Its not a secret, in fact some people, for a reason I cannot fathom, were upset they didnt get a lifetime sub and fear it may not be available again. |

I'm confused, are you upset because they might have been selling lifetime subs or because you hate this game and can't figure out why people would even pay to play it? Personally I'm more than happy with my lifetime sub, even more so now that its F2P. The benefits I get as a lifetime from the cash shop are sweet, its like being payed back every month for what I spent on my lifetime sub. Oh and as for the official forum request for ideas on updating the classes I think that is a great idea as well. Another perk for actually being a loyal subscriber all this time.
