Anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot exactly why the benchmark crashes? At first I was assuming it was a video driver problem, but now I think about it I dont really have any reason to know that it is video and not something else. Is there an error log or a way to make win7 log errors? |

I call shenanigans on the benchmark. I got a fairly low score despite the fact that visually I couldn't discern any significant drop in FPS, even during the scene with the monsters on the deck. Strangely, though, the only time I noticed any slow down was at the very end when the camera is flying over the water before focusing on the ship. |

When I bought my new pc I never upgraded my card so right now I have a Geforce Gt240 and the best I get is a 2000 on low. I'll be upgrading very soon but the deal is that if you have a crappy card you will need to definitely upgrade. There is no way around it. You will also benefit in the long run by upgrading because today games are becoming more gpu demanding than actual cpu. |

Well my rig is the following: Asus P7P55D. So the only real two bottlenecks I have are the HDD and the video card (*770s are given 128 memory addressing versus 256 or 512). But even then, the total capacity of this computer is able to run games like AoC on high without going below 60FPS. So I don't buy that my computer can't handle FFXIV, especially after the fact the demo has no noticeable hiccups or slowdowns until one instance with the flyover the sea water near the end. |

Well, I got a 3941 for the low but when I finished the high, my screen resolution was too low for me to move the screen around to see my own score, but as an indication of everyone elses here, its prob dropped to 3000 or so, which isnt bad I guess. MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit. |

I didn't run the low, but I ran the high and didn't even crack 3000.. It was 2941 or around there. I'm running an alienware MX17 lap top with 2 gigs memory, 250 gig HD (with 50 gigs empty space), an Nvidia Geforce 260 (I think it's an M) 1 gig video card.... The video played very good with no slowdown anywhere.. Not sure about this score, and not sure it's discriminating against ATI cards, as mine is Nvidia. |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

I'm not gonna get too freaked out by how low my rig ran the benchmark (2200 on low, 1800 on high), because if I can run AoC and Aion on just about max settings, I think I'll be fine.
AMD dual core 2.7ghz 4gigs of ram ATI 4850 1gig card Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HD
My PC is fine! *deletes the benchmark from his system* There! That'll show'em who's boss!

HIGH : 4809 :D load : 17303ms Specs: XFX 5870 @ 900/1300 + Diamon 5870 @ 900/1300 + EVGA 9800GT ( for PhysX) Q9550 @ 3.72 3x2gb ddr3 1600 Foxconn BlackOps x48 mobo 600gb hdd ...7200rpm >_>
Now here are a few problems I have with this benchmark : a) I had to turn of my 9800GT, because it seems that starting from Just Cause 2 Nvidia games will try to use GeFroce cards in them EVEN if they're not connected to the monitor 0_o. b) WHY does it run in WINDOW mode ??? such a trick to lower the scores >_< c) WHERE is crossfire support ? my second card didn't kick in at all. Hopefully we'll get it in the full release
P.S. ordered my collectors edition today at amazon W00000T |

You guys should stop the "panic mode" I was in the Alpha phase and now in the Beta of FFXIV and the Benchmark is **** for now I dont even meet system requirement for LOW, and i've been playing in the Alpha without too much problems (benchmark gives me 950 score on LOW lol) just gets harder on crowded areas, but still very playable, so for those that gets 2.5k on High, i wouldnt be worried at all
oh and by personal experience with the game, FFXIV is more GPU dependant than CPU dependant (my CPU is the part that doesnt meet low requirements, a simple Geforce 9500 GT 1024mb was more than enough to run the game on LOW)
A low priced HD 5770 (no need crossfire) will run the HIGH pretty good |

I've got a spare 8800 GTS 640mb EVGA GPU if anyone is interested in it...would be willing to part with it for say $70. I used it for about a year then upgraded to the GTX 275, and its still in perfect working condition, and has been packaged away in its box for the past year. |

Scored in the 1800's on low when the benchmark came out with a phenom ii x2 @ 3.1 ghz. I just unlocked this thing to a quad core and now my score is 3472. Did they update this benchmark or was i just seeing the increased performance? |

Originally posted by Professor78 it's not CPU dependent. Or rather the CPU is not the main force driving it. The GPU is. I'm running the benchmark on an i7 920 stock clock CPU with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 9800 GT video card and I'm getting somewhere around a 1700 score. On the low setting, I've gotten about 3068 score. I believe that the official benchmark doesn't even utilize more than 1 core because, at most, it has used about 25% of my CPU and about 50% of my RAM.

It definitely uses more than 1 core, at any given time during the benchmark all 4 cores were under load. Sometimes as high as 75%. |

Score: 4038 Geek stuff: i7 920 OC @ 4.0ghz Gfx card: 5850 OCed (forgot to what, I flashed the BIOs a long time ago) 12 GB RAM @ (forgot speed and timings). I will probably throw in another 5850 if I have enough cash. Dunno if this game supports 2 GPUs though.
Guess I'll see you guys online =D
Oh, obviously, this was on high. |

Hmpf, 4346 on low, 3925 on high. ATI Phenomenah II 3,2 ghz x6, 8gb DDR3 1600, 480 GTX and W7 64 bits. I will do some optimization but it seems like it isn't using all the 6 cores. I will try to tweak out some more of it. Seems like I will be able to run it ok but I was hoping for more, can max AoC in Dx 10. And the GFX cards fans doesn't even start to run fast on low (it does on high). |
