Originally posted by Skillzeroo I have played AoC from release and for about a long enough time after I got into the raid content at 80. I am sure some things have brightened up a bit since then but it sure left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't really care for the PvP either. It was really hard to hit someone as an assassin with such small hitboxes against the other players. I tried to 1v1 another assassin and we couldn't hit eachother at all for a good few minutes because of how hard it was to hit someone that was constantly dodging. Who knows what happened to the game since then. I would not recommend playing it but the choice is yours. |

and yeah, shrines of bori,it is a little part of the big tower pvp system they are implementing in the future, its supose to give meaning to pvp and availablity for non high dps classes (tanks healers etc.) to get up in PvP levels. the problem with it as of yet is not on the PvP servers, because you will fight for it all the time.but the people who paid transfer thier char on PvE server boost themself (in non competitive enviroment) then Come back. |

well actually he didn't try out the one that i liked the most and that is definitely a AAA PVP MMORPG : Everquest II on PVP server. U get the xp by killing dudes, u got everything u want on pvp trees, rewards, whatever, it's fairly balanced and the community is very good compared to anything u'd find in a similar game. I'm still wondering why so many people overlook that game. The launch was bad, aye, but when they opened PVP servers it become awesome. You're a Hardcore Survivor! You not only survived the zombie apocalypse, but did it with style! Your mastery of zombie knowledge, survival tactics, and weaponry is nearly unmatched. Congratulations, for you are hardcore! |

I tried Darkfall earlier today and while I feel like I didn't give it a fair chance I don't really think I could end up enjoying it.. I watched a few 1v1 / huge battle videos on youtube and it just seemed like something that didn't appeal to me... The gameplay (which I disliked a LOT) made that desicion even more clear.
I DID However start downloading AOC again after watching a few videos, checking out their forums, these forums, rise of the godslayer reviews etc... From what I remember a year or so ago I had a LOT of "noob fun"... Gear, skill, etc didn't matter. I was juat happy playing ;) Hopefully I've made a choice that'll last me a good amount of time.. At the VERY least until Guild Wars 2.
Also I spent a pretty penny and hours of work building and modding my dream PC... Might as well use it to max out AoC!! :) http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/9514/img0800ru.jpg ![]() |

PvP wise, the only MMO that comes to mind is GW. I know, some people will argue about it, but regardless of how you wanna classify it, it's fun at the beginning and lets you come back from time to time for PvP. WAR...well, it's not bad...if it had a bit more of pop. I've been playing off and on the trial. Here's a suggestion: if you're into RPG and looking for good PvP, why don't you check the MOBA genre? DotA, LoL, HoN, and soon enough Bloodline Champions. |

Try atlantica online for pvp.. pretty cool turn based pvp like chess or something Perfect World has good pvp... although getting to high level is very grindy Aion online i heard pvp is ok..the game is the newest p2p mmorpg out so lots of fresh people to level up with. Rohan online has good pvp too... leveling up is grindy though Soul of the ultimate nation is a great pvp and pve game..has graphics similar to Guildwars! Conquer online has good pvp.. it is a 2.5d game but its ok grindy as hell.
All the games i mentioned are pretty solid games for pvp...they are also free (except Aion) so try and delete as u please |

For 6+ you say? Very though one in current mmo world ;). If you didn't liked Darkfall, you surely won't like Mortal. AoC become more and more of a pve game when I've finished playing it but it still had solid pvp playerbase. Sadly Guild Wars may be your best bet (Guild Wars 2 will be a lot different and it definitely won't come out in november, so I wouldn't be worried about burning out on guild wars, and its cheap nowdays). Ahhh ... and there's also Aion, but in my opinion it's not worth the grind, unless they've changed it.
So right now it's either GW or AoC ... or single player games. |

Two great PvP games in my opinion are DAoC and WAR. DAoC is kind of oldish but still has life in it and is strictly RvR now and Warhammer Online would be as fun if they made a new server instead of merging them. DAoC would be my best bet but I wouldn't want anyone to hate me for recommending WAR. If you want though you can always try the endless trial. Originally posted by Skillzeroo That is incorrect, even Anet(the developers) don't know when release is, they are making everything as polished as possible. Earliest release will be Q2 2011, you have loads of time to play the original. Apart from that if you play GW2, you should play GW1 for the storyline and bonuses from Hall of Monuments. Guild Wars has the best pvp of any MMO I've played, and I've played pretty much all the mainstream ones. |

Warhammer is not dying, its running at a pretty stable rate. A lot of people are on, and its really fun. The new city siege system is awesome and has really improved things. Plus, there could be a new expansion coming soon according to speculation by some people, and also an article I read today. Which could make sense with the changes done to the vendors being moved, and the fact that they are saying we will make use of the Sovereign gear soon which as of right now has no wards, which in most instances could only mean new content. In my opinion, WAR is the best pvp mmo right now, and definitely isn't dying. Not just yet... Come check it out, I tried Conan, and somehow it just didn't fit my tastes.. Idk, but the graphics didn't seem as great as depicted yet I didn't get too far into the game to tell otherwise. |
