Originally posted by crunchyblack Possibly. The game's focus mainly seems on PVE, so those servers, mainly Seradon, seems to have the most people. There are tons of people on the trial/beginner island constantly it seems. And I've always found someone in every region chat to ask questions, and possibly help. And I've run across a couple groups/solo people in some questing hubs as well. I can't really give insight, but it seems PvP server is the ghost server, except for the hardcore who really love it. |

Sartok has a lean population. I strongly recommend joining a guild or form a MMORPG guild on Sartok as well. I really fun diplomacy quest I enjoyed a lot and really "shows off" the Telon lore are the Diplomacy Web Saga quests. VGTACT.com has great diplomacy information. There is a Thestran and a Qalian Web Saga Quests. They are long and very rewarding with loot and lore. Look this website over the the Thestran Web Quests. http://www.vgtact.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Thestran_Web_Quests And look this Qalian Web Quests at http://www.vgtact.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Web_Quests Prior to this, I recommend leveling up to 10 on the Isle of Dawn. Here is a leveling guide too. http://www.vgtact.com/wiki/index.php/Leveling_Guide Enjoy. |

The Gnomes or the Tiger guys....very different, or the Orcs...yeah some races are pretty plain like the various humans but some are not. Personally IMHO, you miss the immersion point of the game by doing the Isle. The racial areas are way cooler. |

Originally posted by Torak yup the racial areas are way cooler. Way WAY cooler. But though you will actually find people there the majority of the population seems to be funneling in from the island. You also get great starter gear on the island. I would say to do both if you want a full experience. You can readily meet people on the island but make an alt or another character for a mainland excursion. I know I made a dark elf for the mainland and not only did memories of the launch come back (as far as content ; ) ) but I really was enjoying the quests. |

Originally posted by Sovrath By the way, I did try starting an MMORPG.com guild in VG about 2 years back (check my profile) when the game had it's last real hoorah of dev support.
Let me tell you what happened...for about 2 weeks everyone argued with each other about why "X" was a ragging pile o'sh*t lol....some of them got angry with each other and left. (there were a lot more then those listed on the guild roster) some of them joined for the express reason of antaginizing one another...to bad it wasn't a PvP game.
I don't know if anyone was actually playing the game or just using it as an mmorpg.com IM system. |

Originally posted by Torak I think I remember that. I think this effort, for those who require grouping, is more of an already built in pick-up group of sorts. I of course had my doubts about creating a guild just from people who like the game (because isn't that any game you play) but this is an ultra relaxed effort to just provide a ready made community for people to group with. For my take, if people leave, great, if they want to stay, great, if they want to run groups and raids, great, if the guild doesn't work then that's a shame but in the end I'm keeping my account open and playable in perpetuity. I mean, I don't require a guild or a group to enjoy myself. I think I just joined because having one more person willing to help out or group with someone will lend that much more weight to other people staying and trying vanguard out. |

Originally posted by Sovrath VG is an ok game, don't get me wrong but it really suffers for a few reasons. It lacks any real compelling reason to keep grinding away at it. It has a world capible of being a sandbox but they set it up as a linear themepark. None of their features really do anything. Boats have virtually no function, houses, for the huge amountof effort you need to put into them, don't amount to anything but extra storage, crafting is bypassed by loot.... You can easily see two different dev teams at work here. The SOE guys over wrote to much of the original concept rather then fix it. |

Originally posted by Sovrath That's odd. But makes sense. My Station launcher said it was only 8 gigs. Maybe that's just required for lower level areas or something. And it streams the rest? Who knows. |

Originally posted by Neiko right click on the folder that holds vanguard. Mine says 19.3. I would just double check. You don't want to run into space issues. |

Originally posted by Sovrath Oh, I don't have hard drive issues, Still got half a tb left on two drives. But that was what it said it was dling when I started up station launcher. Then again, that probably didn't consider patches or something. I went to sleep after starting the dl anyways. So don't trust me. =p |

I'm in again, updating now. Looks like Seradon is the way to go. I left the 2nd time around because I never saw anyone and that got boring. So I am one of those who "would play if more people were on it" Some of us just need to be the first few back so others might want to give it another go. It can get more people slowly and face it, people wouldn't be here reading the Vangaurd forum unless a part of them really does want to try it out again. If more people took an active interest in it again, wouldn't that grab some attention from SOE and maybe get the game more love? |

There are quite a few of us back. Our guild alone has had 18 returning players so far this month, not including new players. We are on Xeth so hopefully the other servers are seeing good returning numbers as well. www.agonysend.org |

I might make an alt on Seradon but we can't give up our houses and guildhall. It took me almost 9 months to recover my house after the last server merge and that only happened because my guildies rebuilt it for me. www.agonysend.org |
