Aventurine is now offering former Darkfall players the chance the chance to give the game another look free of charge for 14 days as part of a new Return to Darkfall campaign. The only real stipulation is that your account must have expired on or before March 31st, 2010. The offer will run from now through May 31st and will also allow players the ability to transfer to the North American servers free of charge, which should be helpful for those of us on this side of the pond who quit playing before the NA servers were even around. View the original announcement here. [Thanks Plutonicwoes, cosy, Cecropia, and Aethaeryn for the tips!] Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

I expect to see a big influx of players with this. The game has come extremely far and the next expansion will push the game to a new level. If everyone tries out the game I guarantee that people will enjoy the game. |

I have been interested in the game since I firt heard of it!! Being a long time UO player (9 years) I heard this was like a 3d (First person) version of the original UO (Ultima Online). No chance for a free trial? |

The dollar is 1$ so that if anyone tries to hack with a trial account, they can ban the user at the bank account level.
Also, anyone returning by the 10th will get to take part in this great event!

Originally posted by Cecropia And remember, the game is what you make of it. If you spend those 14 days grinding to "compete" with veterans instead of running out, exploring, crafting yourself, gathering rare materials, doing quests, hunting other new players, sailing the sea, then you won't have a fun time. Don't kill 1000 of the same mob and then say its boring, cause the game gives you a TON of options ;)
Might I recommend the NEW clan. |

You know, I loved Darkfall the first month I got it, It had some sort of excitement and danger and magic to it that I missed from the old days. I put it aside because I feared I was going to burn out rather quickly however, I figured id wait till some new content comes my way that might wow me. Well now that theres a return campaign, Im on it! I havent played Darkfall since I got my new 1,200 dollar rig, and I just got a new HD monitor, this ought to be fun! |

I downloaded it last nite and played some. I havent got a realy good feel for how the mechanics are after only an hour or so, but the graphics are so much better than i had heard from the people who feel negative about the game. All i can say is if you have never tried it ... spend a buck.. you cant even get coffee for that and even if you could , it wouldnt last a week :) hehehe. Work hard Play Harder |

I know there are a lot of rumors of Adventurine Implementing PVE servers to try and boost subscriptions, I think it's a bad move but you have to do what it takes to survive these days. |

Originally posted by jotull Care to substantiate these rumours? I agree I think its a bad idea, but if it provides enough cash to keep the game going so be it, , I'd like to see a new PVP server with a hard and soft skill cap, but if its what they need to do to survive then so be it. I'm happy on EU-1 at the moment, been playing less than a week, rerolled after trying the game before and this time I've really got into it, been ganked a couple of times and had my horse shot out from under me but it just made me laugh, its a question of not rolling with anything your not prepared to lose. I'm going to work on getting my magic up a lit bit more then go and raid some red starter areas to try my hand against my fellow noobs. Its worth a dollar or a euro just to check it out if your interested, the UI is a bitch but the FPS style play is a lot more fun than click and spam. |

I can assure you all that AV will not implement a PVE server. that is because this is a PvP game but with the coming updates to the game I'm pretty sure the population will explode. Of all the people that i have killed in game that were on the return to darkfall trial most of them seem to like it now and they are mostly all subscribing. |

Originally posted by daggnasty I'm also quite interested by this, got an email too. What is the next expansion about though, as I havn't heard or seen anything about it? I was last playing after the second expansion a few months ago, do you mean there is a 3rd expansion coming out soon? The main reason I quit Darkfall is because of the fact that the population seems so dead, in EU-1 atleast. The grind is okay as long as there are always people with the same or lower stats than me - I just have to learn to not attack veterans. |
