No, I can just be brutally honest. It is not something you can do in the CRS forums without power monger forum mods thinking they are you daddy for saying that the HC is full of such persons. The 1.31 game has taken a year to even get into open beta. It is really not that big a deal. The differnce in the game graphics you will forget about in 3 hours of play. Sad too because it took them a year to develope it. Well, they did have to put in all the Chinese goverment's demands for censorship and anti-addiction alarms for players who play this game more than 3 hours. Again it is somewhat nicer to walk around but does nothing for gameplay. There is nothing new or different after a year of developement save some buildings that are no longer 2d graphics. There is new capture mechanics that will make it near impossible to play the game as a small group or squad and achieve anything. The devs have somehow become fixated with making player concentrator mechanics. This has all but ruined the big room aspect the game was so famous for. Now you go into the only fight allowed. Yes, it is a big fight but it is meaningless for the individual player becoming lost in what these mechanic have created as a small room zerg fight like all the other small room and stupid army games on the net. Instead of building this game into a true WWII total war game they have become fixated into making it like all the other simulations on the net where players vie for statistics and who killed me last stats. There is nothing in this game past the Gamelin Campaign or the first 2-3 weeks of the Battle of France. There is no Weygand campaign and the introduction of the Italians. There is no North African campaign that was highlighted in videos by the dev group over 5 years ago. In fact it no longer bears any resemblance to a wargame save unit manuvering. |

Originally posted by angriff I think we often played on different sides at the game, but i fully support your statement. That shows, the problems of the game are not side-specific but bad game-mechanics. Sometimes i believe, that the developers just must hate their own game and favour subscriptions just for their Off-topic-section (shure, the OT-posters didn´t care much for the game at all as long as they can "conversate" in "their OT-section. Well, easier for developer to sell accounts without the need to do something for them. It is possible the most desired group of subscribers any developer team is dreaming about). Easy for devs to claim that many new subs are sold - LOL - just take a look on the join date of the latest new member: The latest member is registered almost 10 months ago and just logged into the "playschool-forums" for just a single day. - Yeah, i buy blindly, that subscribers have increased. They announced so much new things in the past, but they should be glad, when the game barely will run; the 1.31 will not be the miraculous patch which magically bring thousands of players into the game. Eye-candies should be a kind of side-effect, but never THE WONDERPATCH! During the past 4 - 5 years, the developer wasn´t able to implement a new tank, nor the long needed SPA or SPAA - not to speak about the half-hearted implemented TOEs, which harm the game more than it´s doing good. As long as they don´t review the absolutly stupid brigade warping/stacking and refusing the create a better gameplay, i don´t think, its much worth to waste time in the game. Okay, i´ve bought a 5-years prepayed builders account for giving the developers my share of game supporting - but still today, i do not see any single intention for an improvement of the gameplay (or at least bringing back the pre-TOEs fun at gameplay). For that i feel somewhat "betrayed" by the devs and when the game continues into the current direction, i don´t waste another cent for devs (i´d rather throw my money out of the window, because then at least i can see it fly away). I don´t say, that the devs don´t work their ***ses off - but for what; for just coding their game to death instead of saying: "Okay, we´ve done something wrong and it went too far in a direction we also don´t like. We will try to fix that with the next patches" - Such a statement at least is what i am expecting to read from devs before i consider to renew any of my subscriptions. Shure i would like to see at least every year a new triad of vehicles, planes and ships for the next 5 or 7 years, besides the improvements of gameplay - but thats something what never going to happen. Regardless of selling the game-license to chinese vendors and getting a lot (financial) ressources, it is much more a question of willingness. |
