Originally posted by devacore You might have missed the bit in my earlier post where I mentioned I was a research psychologist. So yeah I obviously know what p is. No idea why you think it's funny though. All you've done is thrown in a completely random reference to a statistical concept that any first year undergrad would know. haha ? |

Originally posted by Ozmodan Great article Justin. I agree with Ozmodan in regards to play preference. I remember thinking the original Wizardy trilogy was, to me at the time, the best thing I had ever played on a pc. Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, The Knight of Diamonds, and Legacy of Llylgamyn were great fun for me when I was younger. |

I don't think I have a sweet spot. I've liked all kinds of different RPGs, from the Squaresoft ones back on SNES and beyond, to computer ones like the Diablo Series and Baldurs Gate and the Might And Magic series, to oldschool and newer MMORPGs. I like them all for different reasons. Whether it's an ultra-linear game like Legend Of Dragoon to an open world, go anywhere do anything type of game like Morrowind, the main thing is the gameplay. Is it fun to control, to watch, to grow and progress your characters? Do you get a thrill of excitement, a sense of accomplishment, the wonder of exploration and discovery? Enough challenge so you don't get bored, but not so much that you keep dying repeatedly and scream in frustration. I wish it were as simply delineated as "hot" or "cold" for me, but I try and like almost everything in the fantasy-rpg-action type of games. |

By these definitions, books must be extremely "cool"? I dunno. It's an interesting premise, but things progress. The cat is out of the bag. There was a time when people were awed by black and white tv. Today, there's no way a Zork-type text based game is gonna be hugely popular. For me, being long in the tooth in gaming, I look for convenience (soloability, lack of interdependence) and fun in my MMOs. In the single-player games, I want a good story. Graphics don't have to be top-notch, but they can't be distractingly bad either. To relate it to the article, I'd say compared to the old days, the bar has been raised in both categories. |

Originally posted by Darkimitatio yeah i've seen the advancements, it is coming along, but it's not where some fully invisioned it to be. I've seen all the current technology on VR. But what i'm waiting for is the full out suit you can wear that will enable people to do anything and everything without keyboard and/or mouse. plus for it to be affordable for most high end consumers. right now something like this already exists but it's in upper $10k range. once it's down to around 2 to 3k, then i might consider it. |

Its all about access, access, access. Now dont mean letting everyone beat the game or hit cap and raid in a week. With the constant growth of mobile platforms, I want to be able to game from nearly anywhere. I would love a app for my iPod Touch for WoW where I can see my inventory and the AH. Also access to trade skills, general chat and guild chat/whispers is a must. This isnt hard to do really and is soo feasible. When Im in between classes or just dont have access to my laptop/desktop it would be nice to turn on my ipod and check the AH, buy some gems and socket my gear( or get mats and craft). This is the future.

Originally posted by green13 The article you mentioned has zero statistical data, how could someone else 'cheaply' rip it off? It's like reading a bazooka joe bubble gum comic and saying it was a cheap rip off based on your joke in high school. I disagree with the word cheap mostly.. and the fact you'd even post it. |
