Almost four months after your ban and your still here bumping your thread?     This must have really caused a lot of tears.  

I think it's an unfortunate sign of weakness on the part of a development team to take a skeptical post and just ban it rather than respond thoughtfully.

I think he was banned by volunteer moderators, not developers.

Very likely. Such types tend to be zealots of the first order, and need a good CM to keep them in check.

Creating a thread about it shows that you really don't care about it.

Just for info, the OP doesn't tell the whole story (as usual in this kind of cases). He was trolling since a while already before he finally got banned with that post. It's not that specific post that got him banned, but his overall behavior on the MO forums.

I for one really appreciate the change compared to the darkfail forums. Trolls, rude kiddies and other forumfall rejects are not tolerated on the MO forums, and will be eliminated. That just shows the will of the devs to build a real community, and not a cesspool of rudeness ruled by its most vocal and most antisocial members.

If you got permaban for that, then that's ridiculous. It's an honest question, and even if they censor it on their forums people will still have their own thoughts and opinions.

Which I think they should allow to be expressed, that has nothing to do with disrespect. Because like I said, it's an honest question.

If that's lack of respect then people SHOULD "disrespect" all games and companies.

if you don't question things and demand some standards you get whatever.

First of all they are swedish, and I am not surpriced they banned you :)

When i logg onto the site i get this...

• Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
• Are you sure that the database server is running?

Also i can't log into the game...   Have they Blacklisted my IP?  is this a ban?

as usual, only one side of the story is present. Don't belive it, MO mods ban based on how many warnings you have had or if you are using more than one froum account. He was probably banned for that.

you know, i was thinking the same thing.. in fact, i'd say there's a very good chance ghoul's got a horde of alts on these forums. he definitely seems like the type of guy that would create multiple accounts to dehype promising looking MMOs (ex: Mortal Online) off the front page for one reason or another. maybe he's just a bitter gamer that thought AoC was going to revolutionize the industry, or maybe just an angry WoW fanboi that wants to see all other games fail.. guess we'll never know since getting a straight answer out of him seems next to impossible. ;)

 The funny thing is...the tree fell and no one heard it. In other words what happened to him will not make one bit of difference. I will still be playing MO, so will all the other people interested in the game. At the end of the day all of this drama is simply akin to watching kids fight in the sandbox.

As to Ghoul not bieng able to post on the MO forums. Assuming he has more then one account, that you assume you are unaware of, he can, so that is a non issue. As to wanted to post on any forum...I never understood the addiction people seem to have doing so.

At any rate, MMORPG.COM is always good for chuckles, thanks for posting all this gents!

The OP was banned from the MO forums over a year ago.

A brief review of his posting history shows thay he was arguing that MO shouldn't be full loot, should include races that are farther from human and finally posted the thread that resulted in his ban.  For just a bit more context, the title of that thread was "Do you really have any hope for this game? ".  The post then goes on to compare MO to a couple of legendary failures (Mourning and D&L) then asks what makes people think MO will be any different.  The OP has defended that in this thread as constructive criticism, but I see nothing constructive about saying "I don't think small companies have the resources to pull off a complete MMORPG"

 Essentially the OP was arguing that MO should be a different game and was saying that it had no chance of success.  In such a case I think it reasonable to direct him elsewhere (i.e. ban)

P.s. Kleidas, if you are still following this thread, I'd be happy to check the status listed for you on the MO forums.  Just post your MO forum name and I'll do a search on it.

 I am well aware of that. I would prefer that kleidas had started a new thread rather than resurrecting this one. The only matter of current relevence is kleidas's question and I am happy to try and address that if he checks back in on this thread.  I appreciate that by even commenting on the OP, I am contributing to the perpetuation of this thread.

All that being said, unless kleidas checks in on this thread, can we just leave it dormant?
