Funcom has announced that the upcoming Rise of the Godslayer expansion for Age of Conan will also be available at retail. The retail edition of Rise of the Godslayer will bundle the original Age of Conan game, and also come with a number of exclusive in-game items. One such item that may be of interest to Conan players is the "Tamed Puma" pet. Visit the official Rise of the Godslayer expansion site for more information. Including the original game together with this expansion is actually quite an ingenious move from FunCom. Nice one. Nature without Technology is little more than animals running about. |

And this is news? How so? We will be able to buy a product in a box. \o/ Tell us AA, will said product (in a box), once installed, demand a downtime measured in days before it can be played? Spare a thought for those poor punters who buy into AoC (in a box) for the first time. They install the game and the expansion only to find server downtime is their friend. Long-term players are now resigned to the up-n-down nature of AoC's servers after even the most seemingly benign of patches, but how do you expect new players to put up with it? No disclaimers now. I'm getting bored with them. |

Not sure what you mean by server downtime, this games servers are up far more often than some other games I play. Eg. STO and LOTRO have been up and down far more this past 2 months. Every game is different. Nothing outside the norm with AoC imo. Not really a huge amount - people can see themselves beforehand.

Anyone know of any other company doing it for around the same price? I dont trust play.com they were the ones that screwed up so many of my preorders before, at the last minute that I wont buy from them ever again (they also kept phoning me and asking me to photocopt and send them my bank account details.....dont trust them one bit). I have looked on amazon and its around £27, cant see any others with expansion listed yet. |

AoC is a good game though, i played it since beta started and almost a year into release, but was to little content for me as i play ALL the time when i first start playing an MMO i like. Also i REALLY prefer open worlds, hate how all the zones in AoC is split up. if it was an open world game i would most likely still play it or give it a second shot, but i wont, damn immersion breaker :P Currently playing: EvE Online, Mount & Blade: Warband, Skyrim. Waiting for Guild Wars 2 |
