isn't gas powered games the ones behind dungeon seige? The first of which was decent, but it was not nearly as good as diablo 2. That franchise sure went to crap, the psp version was just mind numbing. |

I have it pre-ordered and really looking forward to it. I do agree with other comments in this thread, this is an MMO site and this game shouldn't be mentioned seeing as it has nothing to do with MMO's. Momo sucks, I have proof. |

Originally posted by Cydone Noooooooooooo. I was looking forward to this game I think part 1 is a decent game. One thing I hate with most 3D RTS is the camera is to close and you can't zoom out. Why have 3D if you can't zoom out. I'll stick to Yuri's revenge and Age of Empiress 2. :(

Originally posted by MikeB I've seen changes for sure, I've felt them myself, moderation has picked up a bit. I think what's left to do is for the community to change. You guys can only do so much, considering how active these forums can be. What needs to happen is for us all to realize we have a common goal, we want better games. It's how we segregate each other into neat little groups that causes most of the problems IMO. If we stopped looking at each other as either fanboi's or haters, sandboxer and themer, we might as a community realize there's nothing but a slight difference in opinions that separates us. Which may lead to less hostility, well, we can dream can't we? That's all I have left on the subject, aside from, I'll apologize for my own contributions to this threads de-rail. That said SC2 isn't too impressive to me as a long-time blizzard gamer. I expected more than just the same game with more story over a 3d engine. The thing to watch is going to be the developer tools and support for amatuer dev's over bnet. Do an article on that. |

Originally posted by greymann LOL No, it doesn't. I just picked red because it's the colour I choose when I can in multiplayer games (board games, mostly). It helps me remember which pieces are mine. As for who is benefiting more, Jon keeps saying the site doesn't benefit from such relationships. The Starcraft ad (article) is there in your face every time you load or reload the front page. I'm guessing it's doing a LOT more to expose SC2 to MMORPG players, than drawing SC fans to this site. "" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2 |

Originally posted by MMO_Doubter You just won't take them at their word will you? Secondly if it's a paid advertisement for starcraft it's a pretty freaking horrible one, as it doesn't tell you anything, outside of the guy had fun. Oh lets not forget, he liked the shiny things he saw. It sure as **** doesn't say to me hey go pick up Starcraft 2, it says if you liked the first one you will like this one. Which to me says if it wasn't SC (to paraphrase) I might not like it. Which also says if you hate SC (me) you'll hate this game.

Originally posted by green13 Yes they are working on non-mmo sequels and yes it looks like Starcraft II will hit retail in a few months time, but I have to say Blizzard really have put SC II and Diablo III very much on the back burner and focused on endlessly patching content into WoW over the past 6 years now. I really think they have shown amazing focus to become a hugely profitable games company, but the cost has been a delayed Starcraft 2. Let's face it folks, after 10 years those gamers under 21 (i.e. kids) simply won't have played Starcraft, though they will have played WoW, the Blizzard flagship and cash cow. How that has effected Blizzards decisions here we can only speculate, but Starcraft has been delayed till near the end of the WOW lifecycle as a result of Blizzards corporate planning. I think the demo is important for Blizzard to get right as they want to launch with the online game balanced and fun, but I think while it is a good ScFi stratergy game it isn't going to change our perception of the genre. A similar thing with Diablo 3, it will be a fun hack-slash-game with definitely improved graphics from the ancient Diablo II, but I think compared to Dragon Age/ FF XIII many will wonder why it too doesn't have as deep and immersive a story too. In a way I think Blizzard is entering the vintage gaming market with Starcraft 2 this year and Diablo 3 next year. The games will have nicer graphics, but the style and appeal will be somewhat retro. Given all of this it will be interesting to see where they go with there next gen mmo to replace WoW after Cataclysm...at some point they need to attempt something that feels new, or otherwise why not simply patch and update all their previous work forever and just cash in on the restro/vintage gaming market that seems to be out there. |

Sonny 1 and 2, find it on ArmorGames. Greatest flash games ever made, they rival console games IMO. |

I'm in the beta, I'm finding it to be pretty good even though I really suck at SC. Blizzard is always top quality, I think I might actually get SC2 when it comes out. Hopefully most of the WC3 custom maps will come over too. ... if you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss will also gaze into you.-Friedrich Nietzsche |

Originally posted by MMO_Doubter TA was a much more in depth game and the two sides were not near the same in terms of unit types/abilities. One could not use the same tactics from one side to the next based on those differences. If you believe the two sides were the same you simply loaded it up, made a few tier 1 tanks and quit playing soon after. Most players I saw in TA that left for SC never could grasp the scope of TA and because of it were never any good at it. They settled on SC because it was far easier to get their heads around and manage what was typically a smaller scale war. |

Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 3 years ago and Diablo III 2 years ago. I wouldn't exactly call that creating them on a whim. Although if they both release this year, that does seem like short development time for Blizzard, at least for D3. My theory is that they have been working on a new MMO and are just trying to push out SC2 and D3 so that they can focus on their next MMO game. I also believe that the new MMO game is the reason Starcraft Ghost was unofficially cancelled. Of course, this is all just speculation on my part.
