For some who likes to paint miniatures, those figures are worth $10-$20 (the decent level of detail is the key). But this requires some experience and a good paint set, so for most gamers the figurines are quite crappy. Cryptic is trying a Customer Development approach to MMO creation. |

I just dusted off my Guild Wars (original) collector's edition box. It came with an art book the same size as the box, pretty thick, a game manual with lots of lore, a cd with the game's soundtrack, and it gave my characters a glowing effect when they danced. And it was cheaper than this thing. And it was 4 years ago (more or less). I mean, cmon. How hard is it to print a full book? Dont they have enough concept art? Is there no lore? I mean, lack of npcs and quests is one thing, but being a sandbox doesnt mean your game is just an engine you can run around in. No background on races? No famous people in the MO's world? Bah, I got my sleeve dirty with dust from the GW's box...

Classis. They sent us a sandbox book. lol classic. Oh, yea, and a sandbox dvd that you cant even install the game with.
Very unfortunate and what's even more unfortunate is SV ever being considered an indie studio; how disrespectful to real indie studios. |

I still have tears in my eyes from laughing over the "sandbox book." EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests |

Mortal online is such an epic sandbox that you have to write the code yourself, that's why those blank pages are there. |

Pretty much laughed all the way through except I didn't agree with the fact that Reaper miniatures are crappy as they are one of the highest quality miniatures in the industry. Now obviously getting them with a smashed package and bent up does suck, but that isn't Reapers fault. I believe the same thing happened with Warhammer online when people didn't understand what the figure was. |

Originally posted by namelessbob Nah, I understood it with my Warhammer figures...these really look and feel subpar. Also, to the guy talking about Guild Wars collector's edition, I don't have that one but I still have my SW:G collector's edition, it was fairly badass as well, however my Bioshock 2 CE with vinyl soundtrack takes the cake!

Doh, the artbook is really incredible. Really incredible. Don't understand what's wrong with the figures tho. I gotta admit, this one almost beats the worst collector's box I got so far - Lotro, which failed to give cloth map (was a paper one instead - and only showed angmar), no promised miniature, no promised keyring, no promised soundtrack CD, no promised artbook, but at least it had a solid manual book to gave a short description to everything. Originally posted by rlmccoy1987 The Warhammer figures, I don't think so, I'll have to take a look. Can't get a better picture at the moment, wife has the camera, so I'm stuck with the phone. The Warhammer figures are much heavier and look better. I've also got a SW:G pewter trooper and EQ2 pewter mount around here somewhere.

To all those who think the figures are bad. Maybe you just don't know pewter figures. They always come with parts detached for a reason, to prevent them from breaking upon shipping. Also these figures are actually good quality pewter figures. The book however is a different story. Just want to clear it up because it seems a lot of people are basing an opinion off of being misinformed. |

hopefully people will learn a lesson from this and stop giving unproven companies large sums of money for unfinished products. But the sad fact is they wont learn a thing and will keep shoveling their money to scam artists and raging on youtube. Playing: EVE online and TL2 |
