Most likely due to better PR on the publishers part. What is happening here is that development funds are spent on publicity instead of creativity. Expect a lot of noise about this game until just after launch when it will die out and the next clone starts being hyped.

I dunno, the combat system, while not unique, is a significant departure from most current MMOs. That's got to get a lot of people's attention, even if the content isn't original.

I meant as a combat system in general, not just in MMORPGs. It reminds me very much of Monster Hunter. Jesus, defensive much?

I have been following this game for a couple of months now and think it is going to be incredible. This game just doesn't break the mould it shatters it in terms of combat, interactive environment, graphics, pvp, and non-combat gameplay such as the fishing mini-game. The only downside is going to be the heavy instancing but if it delivers on everything else I can live with that.
