Shhhh. The more people who know about that place means there will be fewer bargains to be found. Well, except for the actual used stuff. |

Except that Darkfall was released when you could buy the game (remember MO is still in testing) and was exploit city. With the lack of a skillcap, there are characters right now who got a significant headstart by exploiting and are still reaping the benefits.
You could actually buy it before launch...................it's after release that they shut the shop. |

There is absolutly nothing that could ever ship as a game and be worth $118. Even if it had fancy little figures and a full art book, it isn't worth over $50 that I'd pay for any game.
I've never understood the "collector's edition" situation and the fact that there are people who will pay for them, no matter what the game. |

Originally posted by parrotpholk Good you cleared that out for me! I am not more of a fanboy than I like the game, and I am really looking forward to it even more when they have had the time to polish it a bit. The funniest thing is that I recognize all this threads and hate regarding anothe similar game some time ago. It was doomed as well, but it seems it is pretty ok theese days (atleast regarding to some). Why not keep it informative/constructive instead of just beeing a hater with no context in your posts?
MO is in a 1000x worse of a situation right now than DF was in and honestly I don't think they can pull out of it, would be cool if they did. Their concept is good and would be good for sandbox MMO's, but from what I've seen since block A it will take years for it to get polished. Often I disagree with whats posted here but gotta somewhat agree here. DF although you couldnt buy it was better off at launch than what MO is now. In regards to this thread they should have had a digital download only and told people screaming for a box to jump off a cliff if this is the best they can deliver.
Better launch? What are you smoking? DF had an awful launch, from payment processing, to *many* overcharges, to an unfinished game. MO seems to be in a similar state. When it gets to that point, there is no 'better than', just bad. |

I would rather have those payment problems than having an incomplete and broken alpha game at launch. But remember the miracle patch in 3 days is going to fix that |

Fixed that for ya. :-D We all knew what you meant. I agree it's not hard to spend $120 on a good night out. Does that make this "Collector's Edition" worth $120 though? All I have to say to that is: you must not know how to spend your money wisely if you think it is. Millionair or Hobo, it's not worth $120 and I don't care who you are. For $120 you expect at least a little quality and unpainted, unfinished figurines isn't quality.......................... wait.............. we're talking about people buying collector's editions to Mortal Online aren't we? Nvm. makes sense now. |

Originally posted by TJ_420 I was in DF Beta and honestly it was really bad- After following and dreaming about that game for YEARS (I think my forum acct is 05 or 06) I was totally disapointed- I nerdraged and QQed over cut features and it was probably the biggest dissapointment I have ever had in gaming. I was in MO Beta (the open beta- last week) and it was so extremly bad that it made the darkfall beta look like the a Blizzard game 3 months after release- Seriously, t'was unplayable even after the DAYS it took doing 33 fixes on the Patcher.- I was not disapointed, because I will never get myself hyped up on a game again. Now I am waiting to try Craft of Gods this week which hopefully will be at least playable... If not I have decided to go back to DF, admit I was a bitch for /ragequitting and try to catch up lol. SV ia really doing a very poor job here on a million levels and if they Launch in the next 3 months it will be a disaster that has potential to go down in gaming history.
118 for that? And the boxes are the same boxes as the regular ones with a sticker on them (to prove its "limited edition")- WOW.... Thee Bag would make a cool dice bag or stash bag though.... It actually looks cool- Just not 118 dollars cool.
You guys do realize that MO took less time to develop than DF right? You're comparing a game that took 4+ years more to get an open beta over the other. Just look at it this way, if MO had the same amount of time to be developed, there would be no comparison. Its getting pushed out earlier than expected, but still the feed back from MO dev is so much better. IDK maybe you guys like listening to Tasos' BS through the years. You dont really hear a lot of "BOASTING" coming from MO devs. Even as it gets pushed out earlier than expect, there's always still time to grow, just like DF did. |

Also.. why should a customer care how long the game took? I don't care if it's 3 months, a year or a decade... I just want a finished product. Will the company accept different amounts of payment from the players based on how long we have been working or how much we make? "I should point out that no other company has shipped out a beta on a disc before this." - Official Mortal Online Lead Community Moderator Starvault's reponse to criticism related to having a handful of players as the official "test" team for a supposed MMO: "We've just have another 10ish folk kind enough to voulenteer added tot the test team" (SIC) This explains much about the state of the game :-) |
