Yes, I would. I think MMOs actually do PVP rather poorly and that PVP negatively impacts the PVE game in many ways: destroys community, leads to endless balancing, etc. I actually really do love PVP games by the way, and my main gaming love for years has been fighting games. I just think that MMO PVP is rather sucky as: (1) It tends to be item based rather than skill based; and (2) MMO mechanics aren't really up to measuring skill in any case. A big budget purely PVE MMO would be very nice. |

I don't play MMOs that don't have some form of PvP. That PvP can be open PvP, region PvP, Faction PvP, Battleground PvP.
But with zero form of PvP the game loses it's challenge. The AI in PvE is weak and easy to figure out how to win everytime. The quests get old once you've done them all a couple times. The only real challenge comes from other players, human beings who can think and adapt.
That's why I am currently looking for a new MMO with battleground PvP, it's what I'm in the mood for but there seem to few choices. |

I don't feel that a game works as well when it incorporates both. One aspect always seems to suffer for the good of the other. Thus, I would certainly play an all PvE (as I'm not that competitive and don't really have the desire to destroy other people's toons), and MAYBE an all PvP, if it was done in an incredible way. I think amazing things could be done with pure forms of either genre. |

I like pvp but only if it is for some reason. In fuction vs fuction games I don’t like pvp. I don’t even like pvp if it gives points by killing poor guys, because it leads to ganks. I like pvp only if it is for personal reasons, like KSing mobs or offensive language etc etc. I support the freedom in games, and pvp is a function that gives freedom and realism. |

Hell yeah,I'll play a 100% PvE MMO as long as it is a true MMO and not those lame, piss poor Single player game with co-op advertised as MMORPG.I used to love PvP but after seeing the worse in the community in various game,I have no interest in the overated "PvP is the real thing" because it's all ZERGS.

I am a huge fan of pvp games and that is my game of choice if they are equally good. If bethesda puts out the Elder Scrolls/Oblivian mmo like it sounds they are going to, I will be playing that one regardless of the lack of pvp. My guess is that Bethesda sued Interplay to delay the release of the Fallout mmo and we will start seeing stuff on this in early 2011(Oblivian mmo). But this is all my speculations. |

Yes I would , it would take the grief out of griefers...you know those little dickturds with names like "killer perv" and "raging homo" whose only purpose in an MMO is to upset another persons gaming experience. Not that I think PVP should be completely ruled out but I think there should be strict rules and player options to deter players from just running around ganking others for the sheer, sick enjoyment of just ruining someones day. Some kind of sadistic orgasm or something. ????? dollada06...I play DDO which is basically PVE except for the PVP brawling areas and I have interaction with people every time I log on. Getting old is mandatory...growing up is optional. |

Again a really dumb question because most MMO players end up pveing even with games that have pvp. |

The same people that make PVE games unenjoyable. Being a jerk isn't limited to a pve or pvp player. A jerk is a jerk and whatever the scenario will tend to try an ruin other's gameplay. |

Apart from fending off the odd pker and killing the always present higher lvl's griefing/camping lowbie areas, I don't pvp at all. If some people weren't such dicks online I could say I already play any of these mmo's @ 100% pve. Although, sadly mmo's require PvP to keep those hardcore endgame obsessed players happy, without it they would run out of content, quit, and stop paying much sooner. |

Games with heavy PvE content with the people acting like that with poor social coping skills in the above capped text are usually self-policing. Anyone who has played a PvE game like FFXI will tell you those people above saying that nonsense would get blackballed and put on /block lists.
The funny thing is that I usually see those "Glad you are leaving our pvp game, noob. Carebears leave now" types really aren't sad to see non-pvp players leave. They take up the majority of their "fame/rank/standing/prestige" points that make them so "famous" in the first place because they simply choose to live on this type of opponent. The majority of people I see claiming to be "good" at pvp are usually spending ways to find out how they can get the easy kills or game exploits on people doing something OTHER than PvP at the time i.e. (Farming mobs, collecting resources for crafting, away from keyboard to answer the door, etc...) Then they brag later about their leet skills.
Basically, if Pvp people left Pve games, no one would notice really since its such a small part of the overall MMO population, seeing how the typical MMO players are casual players and prefer PvE. But if Pve people left pvp based games, most of those games would collapse overnight, or be like ghost towns. |

I would play a PvE only game, because I am not a fan of PvP at all. -- |

ok, but you're talking specifically about a "hardcore" open PvP game only, and I agree with some of what you have to say.. However, those arent the only PvP type games that exist.. DAoC and Warhammer brought in two games with a very different type of PvP, RvR, Aion as well (though i havent played it, so i cant give specifics) as just a few examples.. I'm curious why you have to judge the majority of PvPers from what we all will agree is a very niche' type of game.. |

Maybe hardcore pvp is not so fun, faction vs faction pvp is without reason and very boring (I can’t understand why they create fvf games… the gameplay is always worst than the mixed races of ffa), but sieges are very important for mmo games and PK is a function that any mmo should have, to give to some rude kids what they deserve so to be afraid and stop complaining (but without points and rewards for PKing).

I am a roleplayer, therefore I value a big and diverse environment. With that, I enjoy reading through well-written stories, if possible at all, by playing games. A PVE-only MMO, preferably MMORPG, would certainly interest me, for the game would revolve solely around story and environment, if executed correctly. Thus, such a game would be perfect for roleplaying, when offered extra possibilities for doing so and steady updating on the game itself (expanding the areas and environment).
