Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnaise and those little cheesy things on sticks. |

Personally, I like the spreadsheet in space aspect of the game. I’ve always found that going between all the information, and the real time action, makes the game fast paced enough for my taste. Plus, I think it’s what opens up all the many possibilities within the game. But that’s just my opinion and I can see how some are turned off by it. So do I. It's a different type of combat - realistic combat. Do you really think we'll be manually piloting ships 21,000 years into the future when computers are advancing at a staggering rate? I don't think so. Computers will do most of the work in future combat, undoubtedly to the point of being completely unmanned. But that would kind of defeat the purpose of EVE, so pilots and technology have a nice balance. Besides that, most ships in EVE are humongous. Try piloting kilometer-scale ships like a dogfighter. I do agree that the UI could be improved and more streamlined (less right-clicking for important tasks, for instance).

EVE makes only the most cursory attempt at being physically realistic. Give me liberty or give me lasers |

I think there are 3 main reasons to not have so much enemies compared to others: 1. Its very different compared to other MMOs that make it unique. 2. It have great balance between hardcore and casual game play that can match both play styles. 3. Its a real MMO. |

As it is in real life. Haters of sandbox, are those who didn't learn to play with others, or be creative alone, or just didn't have any toys when they were kids. Sandbox may change, the people stay the same. As it is in real life Those who didn't learn to play in the sandbox, are left alone and are pushed away from the peer group. Only internet gives them voice, that we still enjoying the sandbox can proudly ignore. ![]() WHO - Online 08-10 WoW - Online since launch. I think it has no enemies cos it is one of the best games ever created, on a computer or off one. And if it is that good then there are few haters simple. |

It wasn't always peaches 'n cream with EVE's reputation. The height of the hatred was about 2-3 years ago when EVE and CCP were constantly popping up on news items and various blogs due in-game/out-of-game scandels, technical achievements, videos created by the fan community, FanFest 200X, tournaments, and whatnot. The spittle was really flying when MMORPG had the top voted game list in the upper right corner of the homepage. Tons of people just could not wrap their minds around the fact that EVE was crawling to the top of the list and dethroning WoW in the process. To fan the flames even further, whenever MMORPG had the reader choice awards and EVE was snapping them up left and right caused the haters to really get their panties in a twist.
