and yes, it was a complete failure except the new launcher/patcher/installer actually worked this time --- at least for some (me included - which really is a miracle - no need to wait for monday)

Yes, true...What you have to do is get some people to stand behind, these must inculde 1 small choir and several long horn players, next rig a halogen lamp above head, then and only then can you do the following. 1. Say in a hush humbled voice while actually typing the same, "Oh the patch of mondays does cometh" 2 .Now the tricky part, as saying and typing that, turn on the over head Halogen lamp to shine down on you, get choir to sing "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" and horn players to do a light flowery fanfare. 3. Only for the Ultra religous, as this is going on throw fish at picture of Herculesas, while slapping your naked buttocks at said portrait, as I said this was going to be very difficult to do, while at a keyboard, and if in a forum debate about the patch, it could prove to be very expensive in fish and choir rental hourly rate. That said, that is more likely to happen than the launcher working as intended. DISCLAIMER...... No real Herculesas were hit by fish in the making of this post. Currently Subbed EVE, thats it after years off MMO play I am reduced to one sub due to the massive levels of CRAP in the market. |

"So to sum it all up run in admin, let the error pop up and ignore it, let the patch download without clicking anything. (Ignore error) When the patch is done downloading and installing exit the error and launcher and restart it and the error shouldn't be there anymore. The characters not being there is normal, they deleted them. The character server is also down hindering us from making new characters. Hope this helps, it solved everything for me."

It is obvious that we are moving in the right direction... have faith.. I know you are a big fan of the game too. Just give them until the Monday Miracle patch can satisfy all our dreams and make MO into the game we fell in flove with from that Powerpoint presentation so long ago. These are good guys... they work hard. They played on an unofficial UO shard and were fun. Believe me, they know how to make this into a great game. They have had a long time to work behind the scenes to fix all the hacks and bugs and add all the missing content that will finally make this a game instead of a tech demo. MMOs are very competative. If SV had put all the good stuff in first it would have been stolen by non-indie companies with lots of money. Now we finally have the long awaited patch coming on Monday and the full glory that is Mortal Online will be revealed!

That is no excuse at all, this is just a fact. And since you only complain about me using "!" instead of ".", I guess you have nothing more to argue about? As long as the patcher work atleast I am glad, and probabely many other customers as well which, again, is their focus I guess! |

Ever wonder why traffic slows down near an accident? Its called "gaper traffic". Those people dont slow down and look because they hate it, they slow down and look because its interesting. I was following this game and was very interested in joining the beta until I started looking into it and hearing all of the problems. Now I am just enjoying the show and waiting for release and ~month after release reviews. I've already decided I will not get involved in this game unless it 180's like Darkfall did. |

It's like going to a restaurant that continually screws up your order, plus the foods not that good to begin with. Sure, they an come up with a "solution" and not burn your burger . (this time)
