Let's face it the existing implementation of starship interiors is pretty underwhelming. Currently, players in Star Trek Online can basically wander around a small bridge area that essentially just serves as a social space you can invite your friends into, but Cryptic Studios isn't interested in maintaining the status quo in this regard. In a comment to IncGamers, Star Trek Online Executive Producer Craig Zinkievich revealed Cryptic's desire to expand on the current implementation of interiors when asked whether players could look forward to further exploration of their ships, including popular Star Trek pastimes such as hanging out in the Holodeck:
No dates, timeframes, or really any specifics were provided, but it's good to know that Cryptic Studios is interested in getting more out of the starship interior feature. Read more at Cryptic Wants to Open Up Star Trek Online Ships. Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

I would rather prefer new, useful stuff than improving something that is pure cosmetic! |

I agree. Unless there is some sort of (fun/cool/entertaining) gameplay associated with the interiors, I'd just as soon the Cryptic devs spend their resources on content. Maybe some of that missing Klingon PvE content would be nice? Seriously though, the only use I found for the bridge (as it currently is) was to use it to trade with someone without having to be next to their avatar or ship. And so I've done that exactly once. |

With time this game has the potential to be great. I am having a grand time playing it! Hopefully with the expansion of the bridges will include missions that occur within the interior of your ship. |

Only five easy payments of $4.99 and your interior can grow to those sizes the ladies love. Everyone is doing it! |

Of course they going to answer by a yes, it would'nt be very bright to say, NO we are happy with the way our ships are designed and no intention of adding more rooms...... i mean the real question is, how much will they charge for it ? Cause if they can sell races, they certainly sell starship rooms. |

Cryptic mentioned ship interiors, and thats what the customers will be getting.
they didnt not mention anything if they will be useful, let alone be beyond the qouta of just being instanced social hubs to invite your friends or store your plentiful cargo of tribbles some where.
it also doesnt solve the issue of chillin in your interior (instanced) bridge after plotting a course towards your destination, only to find out that you never left the said spot to begin with -- due to changing instances.
dont hold your breath, take it for what it is. |

I'd like to be able to sit in my captains chair, and I want the image on my view screen to be rendered and animated please. KTHNX. ...seriously that would be a huge start. Also, please get rid of the beam-in beam-out effect. Unlike some people I have no big problem suspending disbelief when it comes to instances... but please don't make it harder on me than it needs to be. It's still impressive how they actually released the game with such underwhelming bridge content, especially considering how important the ship bridges are for the IP... it would be like LOTR with cities being only cool places with no "real" NPCs or things to do or Star Wars with no ships. Anyway, I wonder how much it may cost (or if they are going to milk money in someway for bridge content) AND if it is going to be ready before the Aion Vision video becomes true ;) |

Half the episodes happen inside ships so it's a no brainer to have full interiors, both for socialization and roleplaying and "quests". |

Well at least it probably won't take them long. They can just randomly generate everything inside the ship... Its what they're best at anyway. |

The could really do a lot with the ship interiors. I'd like to see some kind of PvP where you actually board enemy ships. Imagine a scenario where you board an enemy ship, while other player ships are protecting or trying to destroy it. That would be epic. I pray to Shatner it isn't just an area to decorate. All the good decorations will be super rare drops or easily available for a small fee through the c-store. I get the horrible feeling the second scenario is the more likely one. |

Commed to being more Trek Like?
Well actually giving us the ToS uniforms and Mirror Universe costume we paid for for PRE ORDER would be a nice start....
I think i'd prefer MU uniforms and ToS uniforms before ship interiors. |

I think Interiors should be like the STO version of Housing. Right now you just buy a Bridge that's the same as everyone else's so who cares? I'd like to be able to decorate 10-Foreward or somewhere so there'ld be a reason to see one person's 10-Foreward over another's. Interactive Viewscreen or 10-Foreward windows would be nice. Maybe to be able to put screenshots in a frame on your wall. |

if they want to get more of a feeling of star trek they need to greatly expand exploration charting and surveying. the first thing star trek does in nearly any encounter is use a scanner or tricorder to gather information. more diplomatic options instead of hack and blast more complete planets and solar systems like mars and saturn star fleet acadamy imbedded learning built into the missons much less use of the small instances more ways for ships and players to support each other an engineer should be able to buff a friend ships depleated shields or energy mini game to scan mini game to reroute power the ability to "red line" this is the description of situations where players are pushing their charactors or ships this is used increase excitement and drama that most MMOs lack multi player ships and workstations and shuttles WAY BIGGER UNIVERSE. more things to do besides the caned missons real crafting mining hauling transport i like privateering but not sure how you can do that in star fleet,,

The art team took it upon themselves to finish up the handful of bridges on their own time b/c of the "outrage" from fans that they wouldn't have bridges at launch. Seeing what we've got you'd think people would back off and give them time to work on what they're supposed to be working on instead of demanding that they drop everything to work on what the fans want to work on right now. Things work better if you stick to the plan. Fans need to have a bit more patience to let the plan come into fruition before going off half-cocked. I think Star Trek and Star Wars are both franchises where their fans will be the end of them. |

Considering that ship interiors are at the center stage of all shows - except DS9, but that's a given - I think their implementation is flawed and wrong. I don't think that expanding them will change that. You have a game like SWG that haD real shipinteriors like 5 years (?) ago and all Cryptic can come up with is some random instance that is physically totally separate from your ship. Then again, maybe they can surprise us... |

cryptic should really take a look at a game called EARTH & BEYOND if it wasnt for the name and differences in ships id think they shared allot of the same flaws. E&B didnt have the star trek name or it would follow the same path as STO. make a world, not a game, we dont want another game. |
