Nothing surprises me these days, luckily I am getting into the industry to create my own surprises. |
As it stands Aion has under-delivered to what it had originally promised. When it was announced several years back, it promised original PvP (which it did deliver on some level), Player housing and several other things. When the game was released, the game failed to deliver on several levels (Mind it did achieve a few things, and in my opinion gave me enough play time and enjoyment to pay for the base 50 dollars). Nevertheless, I was left unsatisfied after about 3 months of grinding to hit 50. 2.0 offers to give the rest of the promised package. After I heard this I am seriously considering returning, because honestly I did quite enjoy the game. I was curious to see what other people were going to do.

I'd love to give Aion an other try when 2.0 is released. Just to put one thing straight. I did not leave Aion because of the gameplay - I loved it! I left because the engine effected me mentally. I hope that with the release of Aion 2.0 the effect it had on me will be gone as well (though I have my doubts...) |

Lol, another try of the Goldselling Bot bore. No thanks. Why pay a monthly subscription for a game with Nil customer service. |

When I read this post, my questions are: 1. Is Ncsoft going to launch another wave of over-hyped? 2. If Ncsoft failed to deliver what they supposed to do at beginning, by how they would do it later? 3. It sounds like Ncsoft going to sell these things for extra money or iif not then they may prepare for something for sell. 4. It sounds there will be more grindings coming soon. No matter what, flying PVP is not for me. It does not matter if its 2.0 or 3.0, when FFXIV or other better game on the market,I will go try another game. |

Aion has potential I believe, it just lacked a ton of content. Depending on the release of FFIV and this patch will probably determine if I give it another try though. |

If you really want to point to things that they mentioned WERE going to be in the game but did not make it, player housing would not be among them. My thought is that if people are unhappy with the game then 2.0 will not be the addition that will draw them. At least based on the rumors going around. Still, it is said that there will be two additons made to the western client in the first half of this year (if I read that info correctly) so more stuff is coming. From what we?ve seen so far, you're going to be very excited. :) We have not announced timing for the update as we want ensure it delivers the same level of polish as Aion did at launch. Stay tuned! |

Flight combat is still broken and terrible and will continue to be in 2.0 High ranks will still avoid PVP as the penalty for dying will continue to be high in 2.0 The game was more fun during beta when the cap was 30 as there was constant PVP.

What is that thing they promised and didn't make it into the game, and how do you know 2.0 is going to "give the rest of the promised package", when no one knows about the official 2.0 patch notes, which aren't even released.. I very much doubt 2.0 is going address the grind, and I hope they don't, 'cause it's working as intended. Every person who quit because of the grind shouldn't retry the game because it simply isn't for them. They will probably be adding endgame content (I seriously hope the lvlcap increase to 55 rumor is false), so a few max level players might try it out again. More incentive to PvP and more content overall will get many players to return for a month at least to try out the new changes. |

I really can't say a lot about Aion as I only played to level 20 with a Cleric and Gladiator each on a different faction, but my experience with Aion was positive until I started breaking the 20s and seeing how overpriced everything was and how important gear is to the game. I quickly became distraught and depressed and had little desire to move on as the feeling of "Helplessness" filled me. No matter how good you were, you always were lacking in the gear department, and being at the mercy of Kinah sellers really makes things hard for legitimate players. Long hours spent farming Aether to make my money, getting as little s 10k for 20 pieces, only to find items in the 20 range costimg s much as 2 million Kinah? Yeah, that's when I felt like I was being beat down. In a PvP based game like Aion, Gear is everything; especially for a melee Class like the Gladiator. With Kinah buying at an all time high, bots rampaging the world and over priced items in the Broker, many things about Aion are simply in too bad a shape for me to return. As far as 2.0 is concerned, another 5 levels, no matter how fancy the skills are, isn't enough reason for me to return. Fix our current problems before you start adding new ones. And the graphics? No matter how much makeup you put on this game, it's still got blemishes that just won't go away. |

Personally, I won't return. I might check it out but I just don't see myself playing this game. Especially since the new Final Fantasy MMO is coming out and so is Guild Wars 2 and The Old Republic. I don't care about housing and/or riding bunnies (or whatever silly mounts they'll have) I want a game with a solid game play and I just don't see Aion delivering it.

Surely you had to like the character customization? That was a great feature of Aion!
Still, I would have preferred endless flight. The current flight system is so sub-par in Aion that it doesn't seem like a feature; rather an afterthought. |

That's because of the risky method of crafting in Aion. Everything is based on procs and the "Sub-par" versions of "Unproc'd" items are so inferior that it's a waste of money to buy them. It's depressing really. I really wish the economy in Aion was more stable. I spent more time farming for equipment, manastones and Enchant stones in Aion then I did leveling to 20. |
