While most floors are randomly generated, some are static and will be the same every time. |

I've just bought it after playing the trial and i'm having so much fun with it. Such a fun game to pass the time and I might even try modding after i've learnt a bit more about the game and stuff.

After playing the demo for torchlight on steam.... and then closing out of it once reaching the max possible level on the demo (which was 7) then opening up FATE (a free demo comes with 'My HP Games') the difference is VERY unheard of.... these two games are more alike than any 2 games ive played before... But honestly i enjoyed both FATE and TorchLight even if it was just the demos.... but i wish it was an mmo so all your hard work wasnt pointless and you could show off to people :/ oh well totally worth buying just to have on the side cause even the best games get boring and this is one to refer back to more than just once. |

Think of the single-player game as more of a "taster" of what they hope to bring with the MMO. Reading the Runic Games interview on MMORPG.com gives an insight that they want the general play-style of the MMO to match the simplistic and action-packed nature of the single-player game. With that in mind, you could use the time until the MMOs release to work out which style of play in the Torchlight world suits you best: Melee, Ranged, Caster etc. Ultimately though, Torchlight's single-player incarnation is just a simplistic way to kill some time. With the variety of dungeon layouts, enemy spawns, skill spec paths and fan-made mods that are available, it has a grand amount of potential. "Ted, while I agree that, in time, our band will be most triumphant. The truth is, Wyld Stallyns will never be a super band until we have Eddie Van Halen on guitar." |

I'd describe it as: my dog can shoot fireballs and summon zombies. "This is life! We suffer and slave and expire. That's it!" -Bernard Black (Dylan Moran) |

i find this game great fun, i picked it up at steam's holiday sales for 8 bucks (it even went for 4 bucks one day). I just reached the 1st floor of Shadow Vault with my lvl 37 alchemist. Gonna roll an alt soon i think. |

Thats the only reason I bought this game but the MODs have been vastly underwhelming to this point. I would rank TL as one of my worst purchases in the last year. The only feature I like is the pets and how you can send them to sell stuff.. Would have been much better than there been coop play ( supposed to be a mod out there in the works for it but no holding my breath ) but they decided not to include it to try and make more money from an " MMO ". I honestly think that these guys will go out of business before the MMO releases or will end up releasing an unfinished product and then going under anyway. |

I am enjoying TL- It really lacks depth though...For what it is, its fun in 30 min bursts, its a pretty game (I love the art style- a bit too cartoony but good) and I think it was a good purchase. The Mods....Meh. They suck so far. |
