I'm not sure what the link has to do with the topic, but yes, you can play the entire game without paying a dime if you choose to.

 Depends what your definition of "Playing" is. If you play games for the pure fun of it then yes it's possible, but if you play games to be better than everyone else then no it's not.

 Same can be said for every F2P game, playing free is meant for casual gamers and not the obsessed endgame PvPer.

 Everyone complains that the content gets too hard to not spend money, but that's what groups are for. Even a group of all F2Pers should be able to get through an instance.

((Btw that link is just a common problem people have with choosing the correct region before starting the game, if you signed up for US you have to choose US from the client launcher))

Yes you can play the game free up until about L53, than, if you are not a M/P, you will need to start buying CS items.

Realise with sixpax he will always take frogsters side in anything he says. 

I posted here because I was having problems getting the thing to go. I found what I was looking for and edited my post to help others.

All "Free-to-Play" MMORPGs are free to play.

My friends and I are the best in our server.  #1 priest in whole server, never spent a dime, in less than 2 months made it to the top.

The big thing about RoM is the huge community of players that swarm from one F2P to the next doesn't know how to handle RoM( a totally new experience in F2P games), and they try to play it the same way they've always played F2P games.

I'm the best because I realize an MMORPG doesn't solely consist of reaching the highest level the game has, then trying to find the best armor/weapon the game has, and sitting around talking in forums about how I'm the best, instead of actually playing the game, crafting, socializing, joking, running, jumping, fishing, and a thousand other fun things to do in MMORPGs.

I played this game for a long ass time, so regardless of any flaming or contrary opinions, I still hold mine to be valid.  If you PVP, again IF YOU PVP, and do not use the CS you will either spend years trying to catch up with other players or you can buy the clean stones you need to put stats on.  other people may differ in opinion but I was in XoXo the #1 guild on the pvp server (no longer playing moved on to aion), there was no ladder, but we destroyed the competition and no one can say otherwise.  not saying this to wave my epeen around just saying use the cash shop or move on.  Every F2P claims that you will never have an advantage by using the CS, but this is just BS, they know it, the community knows it, so let's just put it out there and move on.

How do you know YOU are the BEST on the server...there's no ladder, and it sounds like you're pve'ing so....you are the best at hitting 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3, ad nauseum and you didn't have to spend a dime to do it.  What's your secret?  Congrats.

My friend, the priest was rated number 1 in PvP from the majority of players from the forums, and in game she was pretty active.

and it is something to be very proud of... To not believe and think that the only thing that matters in an MMORPG is that you try to be the number one killer.  The only games I can think of that use kills as the only game play are FPS games.

MMORPGs have thousands of things to do in the game, and they all matter just as much as PvP.

If you like PvP, then cool.

I don't care about looking for a pat on the back from you or anyone else.  I play to have fun.  If you aren't having fun, don't play.

I've heard from many GMs that they really don't care about PVP. They said it's not part of the game... then why have servers?

I haven't seen GMs say that,,,,but PvP is alive and well in the world of RoM.   They are probably more focused on pve than pvp, but there is full open world pvp kill anyone, anywhere, any time, any level....Things are heavily slated in favor of mage/priest combo, but change comes with time.

You gotta look harder. The PVP servers are dying and nothing is being done. I don't know what game you're playing, but RoM is not a PVP game... not even a PVE game. Just a big roleplay game with cute costumes. I would rather play second life.

i can totally agree to giantsquid! I am also 55/55 as a druid/mage (not that kind of common specc) and i have spend only money because i was too lazy to farm... And i payed way less for playing RoM than in the same amount of time paying wow or other titels with monthly fees....

Screenshot or it didnt happen :P pvp IS part of the game and they said there will be guildcastle-sieges and a better ranking-system and lots more. But it needs time to develope a game, to improve features. RoM of course focussed MORE on pve, but the pvp content will come - i´m pretty sure!

It's funny because you're just doing the samething I am doing... just instead you're just boosting a game that doesn't deserve it. It's also kinda hard to get a screenshot when they delete the posts. Go back to your world, I can say whatever I want on these forums and the smart ones will listen.... and the kids will listen to you.

I am sorry, i didnt want to just annoy you ;) And i am not boosting the game, im just playing and liking it. You of course can write what you want to - im just a lil bit confused why you put your energy in decreasing a games credibility instead of just discuss in the forums of the games -> you LIKE :)

And a total posting of 13 (all in the runes of magic forum and all flaming) is not any better then the point you accused me :/

Easy... they basically stole around 300 bucks from me by banning me just because I caught them with shady offers for free diamonds. I just want to warn people of their ban first forget to ask questions later.

And if you like the game so much why not just post on their forums and forget about this place? Seems to me I am probably making someone nerdrage?

This is what I am talking about... I got banned for saying this, but they can't ban this many people!
