I would say Perfect World has the larger community of the two suggested. Good luck in your search!

Well I think if you want PvP, Face Of Mankind has a large community if you like in North America and Europe. Though it's heavily divided, you can usually see about a hundred of so (closed beta numbers, it's in open now so it may be greatly more) online.

I think the inaccuracies are due to the fact that they haven't updated them since the review date. Check out the MUD I'm making!
