Tbh, I didn't quit Hellgate because of the graphics, on the contrary, a lot of the artwork was well done. I quit because of the repetitiveness of it all, which was ridiculous even for a hack&slash:
Couple that with a first play-through as a blademaster, a class that played out like a psychopathic Japanese chef with scissorhands chopping up a bunch of pork sausages. Sadly this was about as fun as pushing tomatoes and cucumbers into a kitchen mixer all day while keeping the button pressed with an ever more aching shitfinger.

Since it is in development, I wonder what they are fixing and what they are adding, if anything? |

I played the demo of HGL and the graphics were horrible. How can you say they are better then most MMOs? Did I miss something? That was the main reason i dropped the game as an option. There is no reason a game can not have good graphics and good game play in this day and age. Please don't say its affordability. Graphics cards mid range cost like $75 dollars now online. And if you still don't have enough money then stop smoking, doing drugs and drinking and save up your money. Peace. |

The Gamasutra article is way different kind of making it seem like NEXT YEAR at the earliest:
"We would like to thank Namco Bandai Games America for allowing us to acquire the Hellgatepublishing rights and are thrilled to have eager gamers worldwide return and enjoy the franchise," says HanbitSoft CEO Kee-Young Kim.

I'm really happy about this announcment, I saw it early today. I still have a patched single player version on my HD. But my totally pimped out summoner is sadly gone forever. I wonder what Hellgate Tokyo is going to be like. It sounds fun. |

Really are you people sick or what? STOP BEATING THE DEAD HORSE. It is dead because it sucked totally in the first place. Please don't bring back crap. It died because it sucked so bad it was unbelieveable. One of the worst games anyone has ever wasted time and money on. Serious. PLEASE STOP BEATING THE DAMN DEAD HORSE, IT'S JUST WRONG!!! I'm old not dead. (Nov8tr is pronounced innovator) |

Hellgate London was the game I get bored faster than anything else. I hope this one to be much better as my expectations for the original version was huge. |

A couple of friends and I had this game, and it was so shallow and repetitive it could have been prescribed for insomnia. The same old streets, the same old mobs, the same old weapons that you saw right from the starting mission, the infinite ammo and the fact that zerging would win you every mission just killed this dead. Heck, the DESIGNERS couldn't explain how attributes like Luck worked!! We effectively binned the game because it was so buggy and simplistic, though my boxed game might be lurking at the back of a cupboard somewhere. If it was free to play, and if I could use my original game, I might give it a try out of curiosity. I might be pleasantly surprised if the game actually had some backbone added to it, but that sad little Failboat would need something akin to "Raise The Titanic" to make it float again. |

I also miss the Multi-player version of Hellgate. One of the few games I know of that actually had a perma death option for your multi-player avatars, and distinguish you from non perma death (hardcore) avatars. Stonehenge and the simulated open world areas were fun, but limited. The one "end game" boss you could summon after you collected the heads of the other bosses was really cool. Sadly he was the only one though. This game had all the Mechanics of an awesome game, just lacking content.

Ok if we put the lipstick and fishnet hose on the dead horse we might be able to at least sell it to the porn industry. Or college students, (same thing) hehe. I'm old not dead. (Nov8tr is pronounced innovator) |
