I ordered the DDE version from direct2drive to get the Trill Traits and TOS uniforms but i also ordered the amazon version so I can get the borg and ds9 uniforms and a boxed copy.
Best thing is game time stacks! so I will get 60days playtime too. |

from what I understand she is a full crew member complete with her own borg technology and skills. Personally I'm broke so I just picked up the wal-mart regular version which if I am correct (about the percentage) gives you 40% more skill points at creation. |

I purchased the Gamestop special edition just so I could get the Connie! I love the extras for special and deluxe editions.. this stuff is par for the course for MMOs.. really folks... I have never understood all the "conspiracy theorists" I sometimes see on these boards. |

Question for the folks who have purchased DDE: Do you get all of the stuff on this page (http://www.startrekonline.com/exclusives), or just the stuff listed by Direct2Drive (http://www.direct2drive.com/1/8805/product/Buy-Star-Trek-Online-Digital-Deluxe-Edition-Download)? |

No, the exclusives page is just to give expanded information on what each of the preorder bonuses does. If you pre-order from D2D you will get the Multispatial Shield, and if you get the deluxe edition you will also get the defense batter/nx prefix/khaaan/bloodwine stuff. Its been pointed out that some of the pre-order stuff is tied into the retail key so people that want to use the trill traits or there connie during the head start are buggered coz you will not get your retail key till day of launch. |

Steam $59.99

I'm happy with the Gamestop bonus of a Consitution Class starship. I don't need any of the other frilly stuff, but that's just my preference in Star Trek geekdom. I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play. |

Are any of these pre-order in-game things actually worth it. The NX prefix just looks like you'll get it for "OOOO! LOOK AT ME!". The Chromowhatever armor, personal shield and automated defense battery will be outdated by the time you get a few level under your belt I'd imagine? Or is that false and you'll use them for a while? I'm just wanting to avoid having to pay for things I'm only going to be using for the best part of a couple of days. |

As with CO, once you have the keys in your account, you will be able to get the preorder items (one per character basically) as "special unlocks" from the STO ingame store. This means you will still be able to get them with whatever character you create, whenever you create it. The only exception to this is the Joined Trill racial trait, which you can only get during chargen, and thus you will have to make your Trill after you input your retail key. Since this bonus only comes from the DDE, you should get the key right on launch day, however you won't have it during headstart. Therefore, any character you create during the headstart will not have access to the Joined Trill racial trait. "Because it's easier to nitpick something than to be constructive." -roach5000 |

I'm OK with creating a "throw-away" toon to learn the ropes during the Head Start period, then creating the Trill on Release Day. |

Now, I'm really not buying the game.
You mean to tell me that you have to buy a collector's version in order to get a joined Trill? *shakes head*
