op aion fits what you want perfectly .but the graphic part is misleading yes on the slider to make it shiny is there but if you pass the mid mark on most computer it will be a lag fest .and the pvp is kind of instance its not open world like other game . if ms do a mmo version of halo we ll get full open world 1000 player battle thats a no brainer till then .open wo¸rld game are fairly rare |

No such game exists. It sounds like a graphically updated version of DAOC is called for. FINBAR |

The closest I can think of is eve online but thats sci-fi and isn't twitch based... I thought they had an MMO for everything. Turns out thats not the case... |

I am waiting for Black Prophecy personally. I really like the art team so far, they are really impressive. |

Mortal Online sounds the closest, but it's still in development. The graphics are top-notch, the combat is entirely skill based, fps control style, the economy is run by the players as crafters (this just started happening with the latest patch) and it's not an endless grind because there are no levels, only skills to build, which will max out fairly quickly the devs have said. They max out too fast right now, but I suspect that's only because it's beta and they want people to have characters worth playing despite frequent wipes. Its worth looking into. You can gain access to the beta if you preorder, or you can wait for release in a few months. Check out some videos though. Zaxtor99 has some videos up in a thread he started in the official MO forums on this site. The thread can be found here. |

I play EVE and have lived in 0.0 (before and after the recent Dominion change). So I know what you mean about PvP and empire building. But the only other game I've played where the PVP comes close to the EVE experience is AoC on a hard-core PvP server. PvP - Territorial, guild vs guild, open player killing, faction, sieges: AoC does have city defence in delaired Guild Wars, but it's not a major part of the server I'm on. There are other instanced battlefieds zones for volunteer armies to clash. Solo or group oriented - Hopefully more group but should still be able to play solo: Yep...AoC supports both in PvP environment Graphic style - Cartoon, anime, or realistic, I don't care so long as its stunning: AoC graphics are stunning, environment has a realism look (depending on your h/w capabilities) Leveling preference - Quest, PvP, hopefully more on skill and not just grind.: AoC allows both PvP and PvE leveling. You can quest your way to 80 mostly solo...but you'll want to find groups of 6 for some cool instances or some grind will be required. PvP is largly skill based. Equipment and level does player a factor. But there are no level limits on who can fight who. A skilled player can PvP against someone 10 level higher and win (20 level deleta if you get the jump on them in a good ambush). And it's like EVE...constantly on guard. It's great fun if your 21 level barbarian can leap from shadowns and take down the level 40 Ranger who is wounded and gloating over a recent kill of his own. But beware the level 80 who runs by and fires the AoE just to wipe you all. Free to play (F2P) or pay to play (P2P) - P2P please. AoC is P2P. |

Graphics and PvP dont go along well together, especially when the PvP fight turns into a 10 vs 10 then a 100 vs 100, then the server crashes, i suggest something with a tad bit simpler graphics. Even the most powerful computer is at hard labor when it comes to "Best Graphics" PvP, especially when the persons that are PvP bring their guild members into it, and the their guilds' alliances get into it then it become a huge mess that is good enough to blue screen any computer. WoW is 85% Gear and 15% Skill. DAOC or WAR seems the only best bet, but even that is starting to fade slowly. Aion isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Wurm Online has a moderate learning curve but can be enjoyable for its sandbox PvP format, if you join in the wild server. If you want a true skill based game where you MUST make a good character or else you will DIE all the time, and if you can handle getting owned by other players while levelling up, And yet can make a compromise on not having the "best grahics" ((Hell, Doom 2 is rated far higher than Halo ODST.)) you can always wait for Shadowbane Emulator. They just got done testing their login server so they are getting very close to open beta. You cant have everything in one MMO, got to make compromises. Shadowbane takes 2 play days to reach max level, and that is if you are with a good guild that knows how to power level characters, so it doesnt really feel like a grind. Gear is mostly based on what your guild/nation's city makes. Shadowbane fills up your list of what things you want from a MMo, except the Graphics part, but it is 3D, just looks slightly shoddy, but, GRAPHICS ISNT EVERYTHING RITE? Shadowbane back in 2007 used to be P2P but ubi decided to switch it to F2P. Expect the same F2P results from the emulator. |

The game isn't out yet but you might wanna keep an eye on TERA(The Exiled realm of Arborea) Online. It has a seamless world with open pvp and the combat system is non-target which means you aim your attacks with a crosshair and a lot of emphasis is put on dodging attacks actively using various moves. If you want a game that's already out your best bet would be Aion since it's the only graphically appealing Fantasy MMO out there right now, it has pretty limited PVP however. |

Lotro have amazing graphics, awesome gameplay and great pvp. tho the pvp is limited to one zone it is really fun to play, it's amazing how huge battles it is, freeps vs creeps. huge amount of players fighting battles to controll parts of the area. the graphics is really amazing. one of the best i've seen in any mmo:
the gameplay is really fun aswell. the epic quest line makes the levling fun and enjoyable, the pve of Lotro is also some of the best of any mmorpg's and you don't have to be a hard core player:) the latest expansion, siege of mirkwood brought soo many good improvesments which makes it even better;) |

Wow I'll DEFINATELY check it out. But one zone pvp is kinda a turnoff. |

Well I did a little reading up on LOTR, sounds good but the part on PvP is rather disturbing. Is it a purely PvE game where there is only one zone with PvP? Sure there are 5 controllable keeps and all but its just one puny zone then its still a PvE game. Also, guilds seem rather... useless. |

Nothing surprises me these days, luckily I am getting into the industry to create my own surprises. |

Where do you get an AoC trial? I have looked everywhere. |

So, can someone explain the PvP system in LOTRO? |

I did the unlimited trial, tortage itself is nice but now that I'm level 19 almost 20, I really want to get off... but still contemplating other games. I take my MMOs very seriously, but I feel I've overstayed in eve and its time to move on. So I'm choosing one that I can see myself playing in 5 years time. LOTR seems interesting, but I think Conan is better... I'd play conan just for the storyline quests but taking it up as my career MMO (yeah I take it quite seriously)... I think not, not without world PvP. |

well, i play Eve as my main game, but just recently (as in last night!) i downloaded the 10 day trial for fallen earth... so far it looks very encouraging.. but its not fantasy, more the post apocalyptic near future kind of thing.. other than that it might have the things your looking for.. maybe once i've played it a bit more i can be more specific... but it looks like one of those games thats at least worth trying. |

You should look into darkfall. I am loving it. Its really is in league all its own. It has FFA full loot pvp with alignment, fast paced fps combat with friendly fire. very nice graphics, a beautiful seamless world with a very large viewing distance on a clear day, skill based character progression, crafting and harvesting, mounted combat, naval combat, city sieging and resource control. They let you jump, swim and dive( I have accually played games where you cannot do basic things like either jump or swim). Challenging pve in the sense that mobs dont just stand there, they willl run around and make you miss, and try to get behind you and hit you in the back for increased damage. The game has some parts to it that are obviously unfinished, but when compared to other games like shadowbane for instance it has far more features. |
