Eskil Steenberg of Quel Solaar, the (lone) developer behind the upcoming Love MMOG, has announced that the Alpha test for Love has been completed and that the game's closed beta test is now underway. Gamers who participated in the Love Alpha test are already testing the Beta client, while new testers will be able to register come January 7th.

Good news, however, I didn't like the fact that the only way to participate in the Alpha was to pay him, one reason why I didn't bother with the Alpha, now if he's not requiring you to pay him to participate in the Beta then I'll register come the 7th.

good, stay away. its just one guy developing it, so he needs money to run the server. i understand that. im not gonna pay for it until it releases, it looks very interesting.

Um, lol. Its because the game is being developed by a single individual person, who has living expenses, and has to pay server costs somehow...... Honestly, it looks really interesting. I might have to chip in the small fee and check it out.

Hahaha, lol at your EDIT, I mean seriously who is holding the gun to your head and forcing you? You do understand it is a choice to get into beta right? Simply don't pay = don't get in beta, isn't the end of the world is it now?

This isn't some big shot company who is behind this game. Really wish some people would show abit more understanding on forums like this. But geuss some might be perhaps be to young to understand this.

Overall great news that the game is entering it's beta fase, I don't want to pay for a beta either and will wait till it get's released, but will definitly try it regardless when it is released, I might like, I might not like it, but I have allot of respect for one person to pull something like this on his own. Shame some people need to use curse words.........

This looks great. I love things like this. A truly avant-garde idea for gaming.

This game sounds like an artistic sim type game. I am impressd if one person pulls this off and it becomes successful. I do agree that giving a donation to help development is not much to ask for. It only takes a few dollars from a few thousand people to add up a decent amount of capital to keep it going. So don't whine. If you like it help it. Peace.

You really have to play it to understand how original and how crazy awesome this game is.  The entry fee is worth it.

This guy is a genius at what he does and he's doing it all by himself. I dont mind paying nominal fee to help keep him going.

This game is very much unlike anything else and the dev isnt asking the world for it either so it's a very worthy investment.

Love is a truly innovative game.

While it's not to my taste, I do wish Quel Solaar all the best of luck. The game is a testament to that one guy, some brains and an arse-load of hard work can accomplish what tens or hundreds CAN'T do even with a budget of millions: true MMO innovation.

I may just sign up for beta to give the guy a coupla bucks per month.
