Hey, look at his history list games he played. Cant you guys do a little bit harder to bring his moral in a good shape to help him stick to DF? So if thats how you help casual gamers, darkfall is doomed.

Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM
So you can stop posting that i played DF only for 2 weeks over and over again.

If most of darkfall's population was made up of casuals then you wouldn't need to play longer to get PvP ready; however, most of darkfall's players are power gamers (4hrs+/day). You don't need to play longer if you make really good use of your time; however, a single siege or pvp raid can take up to 5hrs, if you can't be there the entire time you can't really help your guild can you?

How often do they spend 5+ hrs though? I mean, thats nearly the length of time people spend at work doing a job, and getting paid for it. If they are spending 5 hrs a day on a game, what else do they have time for?

Most people playing darkfall are in college or work a 9-5job. From 5-?? is when they play the game. This doesn't mean they don't have a social life, it just means that most of their free time outside of their social/commitment life is spent on the game instead of reading. My entire alliance probably plays at minimum 3hrs a night, hell a couple nights ago we farmed the same mob for 3hrs.

I'm just thinking about  how my own schedule works..

7 - 3pm I work

3pm - 4pm = drive home

add extra half hour/hr if my wife needs me to get stuff from the store or run an errand.

Probably get home around 4pm or 5pm..

then I have to clean up/cook/eat...

by the time all that is done its 6pm at least, then I have to give my 2 year old a bath and then myself a bath.

7pm by the time I get him in his pjs, feed all the dogs, and do any other little chores.

7pm to 8pm I'm spending time with him and my wife, doing whatever.

8pm to 9pm is wife time.

9pm on is my free time to do whatever with.. but I go to bed at 12 am because 5:45 comes early..

and thats when I'm not working on any projects, like currently I'm in preproduction for a movie I'm shooting.. so thats even less free time.

You are actually so busy that you're not even getting enough sleep. Maybe you should find a new hobby, you're health is much more important.

I wish games weren't so serious that they have to occupy half your day in order to have any fun in them.

They don't.

You seem as if you've got too much on your plate though to really play these types of games.

I work 5 days a week, work out 6 days a week, spend time with g/f, I still find plenty of time to enjoy Darkfall. But I have no children. Maybe that's the difference.

No your not.  You should remove your xfire sig before you try to troll.

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. When will developers (and players) become sane? Now go eat some grass like everyone else.

I suggest you to wait teal Mortal online is complete. It will be like DF, well more like how UO was, but it will be more cusual because the devs there constantly say that you will be able to max your primary skill under a week and secondary dont take that long and after that, you are ready to pvp and kill anyone with your own player skills and not your stats.

Check out that video or contact me in their official forum mortalonline.com. My name there is Stackofbeef. Il help you with all the info i got. http://www.mortalonline.com/

Currently, i can only leave you with some videos of this upcoming game that is currently in beta stage. Dont worry, we will have our game made for the casual audience that is an fps game with full loot and open pvp.

Official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaMiwHH_Jnk

PVP: Skip to 1:20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzPJ7Vef_FY

PVE Official pve http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYVoeimLcnc

Trust me, this is what you are looking for. I suggest you to try any other mmorpg and once Mortal online is complete, buy, but dont buy the beta because its currently unplayable.

Its the combination of wife + kids. Having a gf means you still have control over what you do as an individual. Once you get married, you become one person and thus your schedule is not the only one you have to worry about.

I've played these games for years, and have never put more than 3-4 hrs into one single session unless it was on a weekend or a day off where I had the entire day to do absolutely nothing.

Maybe if you bothered to look at my xfire profile you'd see where it says "azmyth2k played Darkfall for the first time"

more than 2 weeks ago. these xfire sigs have never worked correctly for me.

No I don't have that control. I'm aggro'd by her literally half the time I'm playing.

I guess I should have added that I've been with her for almost 12 years. We are simply not married. Big difference. Judging by your age in your profile I have most likely been with my "g/f" longer than you have been married. I would kill to have my "own" schedule, lol.

Maybe skip the bath in the evening, and take a quick shower in the morning.

Whats the different? It only take up to 15 minutes and myself, i never feel like taking a bath just after i woke up. I do it before sleeping and i think its better so you just got reed of it at the morning because for myself, morning is a rush for me and i never drinked cofe in my whole life( I mean, drinking cofe like other ppl do in an addictive way every morning) So im like really fully tired.

Well thank god you don't work where I do. You don't even go to work clean.

This thread is going to strange places.

I experienced some PvP in my first day, I do not feel like I was simply ganked.  I actually engaged in PvP with another race on my first day and survived.  I also got killed a few times before I even got a hit off, but I never lost anything I couldn't easily replace.  This is my second day and I have already started exploring past the goblins.

My advice is put on some gear you can afford to lose, carry minimal weapons, and get your explore on, no reason to just stop at the goblins.

I'd beg to differ about there being no difference. We've been together the same time, we just got married. I didn't think there would be any difference either.. we already lived together, and all that jazz... but believed me.. those papers that you sign change a whole bunch of stuff and I don't know why that is.

I wish we were still dating sometimes.

My wife hates MMO's as well, so I understand the aggro.. I've probably had more aggro from her about MMO's than anything else.

No wonder we can't understand each other, you have completely different perspective then normal casual players. Shame this game never will be popular or really improve if they will continue listening to minority of college kids.

My biggest advice for you in a game like this is set yourself up a bunch of mini-goals and always leave some time for fun.
