Ok we all know that "alganon" is being made by the company called "Quest Online". Now since everyone here's in agreement that Alganon is a wow clone, i realized something just know that i found amusing. Since the primary two things in WoW are questing and raiding their company name makes sense. They basically had either "Raid Online" or "Quest Online". So they obviously went with Quest Online since i doubt raiding will be included in the game right now. Now then does anyone else find it amusing that the game company making the most obvious wow clone is called "quest online"? Also i'm sure many others have realized this before me and how clever it was, but well i'm a bit slow when it comes to realizing amusing correlations. Now i don't get where the name came from though. I've not realized why they called it alganon but knowing them it's some sort of secret code. And by secret code i mean something so obvious it'd make sense immediately after realizing it. |

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, what you "realized" wasn't a realization at all. it was an assumption. Now,granted Alganon is a WoW clone BUT,that has nothing to do with the parent company (Quest Online) name. It is to simply say that they are a company who a large portion if not,all of their games is based on or around questing. I know it sounds like I'm contradicting myself but, think about it,just because,Alganon was realized as a bust doesn't mean at all that Quest Online within the next few years could come out with a very unique and creative MMO based on questing. Would that be a WoW clone too? if so,then you could say any games within the last half decade with questing is a "WoW Clone". The reason I say your "realization" is a assumption is because, you are basing a WHOLE company off of one game when you haven't even given them a chance to show their worth.

He went from unique (supposedly according to himself all the ideas in Horizons were his) to a copy of WoW. They are under 1000 subs right now, and people are asking them to merge their 2 servers into one. The game is full of rubberbanding mobs, broken quests, and 75% of the initial ideas left out. (No PvP, only 2 of 8 races and 4 of 7 classes.) I doubt very much, even if this game happens to live on as a "niche game with a low subscription" they would ever receive the funding or have enough cash to attempt to make another MMO. Best guess, in 3 months this becomes a cash grab from David Allen who will sell the IP to another company and he will split from QoL. (He can't be kicked out this time, he corrected that mistake by actually becoming the company CEO.) |

Yea,I know and I understand where he's coming from I just think the way he worded it was wrong. And I know the games a piece of crap and personally I agree what everyone says about it because,it's all true but, just for the sake of arguement I had to point out the fact that regardless of the standards of a company or who's running it's still wrong to judge a book by it's cover...unless the books cover hints to the fact it has anything to do with EQ or EQ2 then burn the damn book and run!

The reason Alganon is named "Alganon" is probably the same reason why Allod is named "Allod" or Aion is name "Aion" - they all start with the first alphabets "A". Naming your games "A?????" will make them appear on the top of any kind of game lists hence drawing more attention. Do you think games with names such as "12 sky", "2 moons", "2029 online", "4 story", etc really have anything to do with their names? |

2 moons and 2029 actually do, haven't really looked into the lore of other two. As for the thread, in my opinion that's just taking it too far. We can really make speculations all we want but at the end of the day is there really any point arguing over a companies name? |

Yes, but they could have called "2 Moons" "Two Moons" which would have been much more grammatically correct, but they did not, because it would have put them at the bottom of the list sir.
