Honestly it looks promising to me. Character art and animation looked decent. PVE mobs don't look to be quite finished yet. City looked decent. I like the style. Not bad. I do expect release will get pushed back, but maybe they'll pull off a miracle.

A fanboy is not only someone that really loves something (to say the least), he also have ridiculous knowledge about the same thing. Few people on this forum is real fanboys, Zorndorff is the only true one I can think of right now. See the movie "Fanboys", it will help you get it.. As for anything from a games beta: It doesn't mean anything until the game is released. All games are buggy junk from the beginning, betas are made to fix junk like that. If they release the game in crappy shape it is another matter but right now this is nothing to worry about. I am not sure this is a game for me but I do like what I read about the crafting in it... |

It's not the point of bugs in a game still in beta stages, it's that the game is slated to release relatively soon. If you think major or drastic changes will occur between now and the launch date, you are sadly mistaken as I direct your attention to the same argument from WAR fans during beta. There are still bugs/performance issues existing since launch in WAR, and people still argued that the game would be fine for release let alone now. I've been anxiously awaiting MO, but if they're serious about the game and want it to succeed, serious development needs to occur between now and launch which means pushing the release date back. It will have a much better time of surviving as opposed to the early launch of death. This isn't always the case, though. Darkfall was in production for so many years and it still wasn't pushed back far enough to have a stable launch. I hope MO turns out differently.

The next big patch will be after Dec 17th. I will be interested to see what they get to work. This patch will let everyone know if and when the game will have a chance to launch. Personally I hope they don't launch for 2 or 3 more months. They should get this patch in to see what works, then decide on the open beta date. I like the game world and the ideas of MO more than DF. There is much more freedom in the MO world. The problem will be the same as DF's launch. What will work and how much will be missing. The game is not ready, but I am willing to play anyway knowing what to expect. “How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?” |

Why are people in an uproar about bugs in the beta? Your favorite MMO that has been released for years and has a 200 man development team still has bugged mobs, imbalanced combat, and graphical errors. God forbid a game still in development should have them. Then if you actually played the game, you would realize that most mobs arent bugged. killing wildlife shouldn't be touted as "the pve content" because its not. Killing them gazelles is harvesting, not pve content. The only pve content is the minotaur, they will keep the final pve mobs secret until the last minute. All we can expect is to test enemy AI. I like how that video shows other people sparring and not the actual camera man participating in pvp. You dont know what they were doing and every pvp encounter you witness will be different. Those guys could have just been testing weapon damage or attack speed for all you know. If you are mining for hours on end then you made the choice to do that, no one is forcing you to be a gatherer. When I play the game I go around the continent looking for people to interact with, I look for bugs, explore, tame, look for unlocked houses and whatever I want. When i do mine/lumberjack I do it in moderation, when they enable depleting nodes gatherers will be doing alot more moving around. |

It's not rumor anymore =) They confirmed this stuff already: Next patch confirmed info: Full refining and crafting. Quote: People are working like raving rabbits, and a lot of stuff is happening! Quote: Later that day the sounds were implemented into the new Huergar tunnel system! Today I'm making the jungle ambiance sound - it's gonna be great. I'm mixing about 15 different bird sounds that will appear randomly to make an unrepetitive loop. The jungle looks amazing! Quote:

Originally posted by xTwiSteDx Exactly, you only need a couple of art designers who are proficient in Maya or 3ds max to make the assets they currently have. The scenery is also simply created using the unreal engine terrain creator which is so simple a child can use it. The actual game itself and the code base behind is just terrible. Everything they've done so far with that game can be done with a mod, perhaps minus the server architecture, although, that doesn't look that amazing either.
Ever heard of Grome? You obviiously seem to know so much. EU3 is just the engine. Get your facts straight. |

Upfront and honest compared to the team of Darkfall, i'm guessing is the comparison. |

Well, they had alot of issues at the start (and still have), one of those was communication. Only those in the first block of beta in the irc got feed with information. We could talk with the devs daily, but because of a lack in beta forums, we could not share it with the rest :( |

Interesting video. But I've seen worse PvE bugs in EQII just a couple of years ago (before I quit beating my head against the brick wall of SOE's idea of "fun" lol). So, you know, not so bad. I offer in return this video of Mortal Online alpha-stage combat. Sure, it's FULL of bugs at this point. BUT - if PvE combat is REALLY like this, we're gonna have a hella lot of fun taking these things down.

I'm not a "fanboy" - but Kudo's for an indie team trying to do something "different". If anything this thread makes me want the game even more. I hope they succeed, and I hope they are able to launch a fairly good product - if they do I'll buy.

Buggy and half finished at release is SOP for game devs these days. I dont know why anyone should expect anythintg different with a small time dev. When I buy a game or anything else I want a finished product and as for PC games that is about 6 months after release. For those who pre order its their money to spend and hopefully you will get your moneys worth. If not Im sure there will be another company on the horizon to throw money at . |

That video was only made to make MO look foolish. I can post a similar video about WoW bugs.....would that help you understand my sarcasm? And SV dont have to fix everything at launch, no MMO ever does. They only need to show us that they are working hard on the game. So i really think i have my facts strait : ) |
