Me too. I got in and played for an hour. Then i logged off and cannot get back in.

Probably either a) the new patch destabled stuff, or b) too many are trying to get in to see the new content.

I am having same issues you described.

Maybe they will have it playable at some point tonight.

I sorta figured that seeing new major patch and all..  just was wondering if anyone else was going through the same thing as my hardware firewall has been acting up...

Same here, but i'm used to it by now.

I'm having the same issues.

First the patch would only load to 10% and then disconect. So I ran Blizzard's WOW Repair program as suggested on their Support FAQ. After running the repair program the patch finally loaded.

Then I try to login and end up at the "What Location/Type of Server Would you Like?" screen. I go to the list and see my server with a medium load along with many others that were populated. I select my server and get "Connection Successful", then in a blink of an eye, "You have been Disconnected".

I go too Support and their website is down. I try to login again and see "No Connection"

After 5 years, you would think that they would have a better handle on things. But... guess NOT!

I found the following on the official WOW site so I called and got a "BUSY SIGNAL" (like they took the phone off the hook) lol.

Glad it's still wide spread and not just my connection.  Alot of the other fansites are crashing too because of ppl going around looking for answers.

Husband is on and playing on the Gorefiend server.  He's doing the new instance with a team of people.

Can't connect to Shadow Council. WoW can't get a patch right the first time. On the other hand Turbines new expansion for LOTRO has run smooth since launching last week

they better get it right soon. the girl thats a bartender at my favorite bar is going crazy she cant log in.

Never assume you can play on patch day, blizzard dont have to deal with a dozen or less servers like most MMO's they deal with over 250 in the US and 240 in the EU, thats a lot of servers to patch and test and when things go wrong they probably have to take down a whole cluster of servers and so on.

Even if the patch went 100% perfect your still goona be hit bu 5k+ server queues on medium pop servers and 12k+ queues of high servers.

3:10 p.m. EST: Realms are still down, and the official WoW forums appear to be down as well. Expect some more downtime.

3:25 p.m. EST: Still no ETA on having the realms up, but according to the Warcraft twitter they will provide another update in an hour.

4:00 p.m. EST: Many realms are coming up online now.

4:03 p.m. EST: According to the Warcraft twitter account, all realms should be playable within the next hour.

4:13 p.m. EST: Many many players are now reporting being stuck at the loading screen. The loading bar will get to the end, and then their computer will just hang there. No word from Blizzard yet.

4:15 p.m. EST: Blizzard has confirmed there is a problem which is keeping players stuck in the loading screen. No fix for it at the moment. It looks like it's an issue for everyone, although we don't know for certain yet.

4:47 p.m. EST: Most (all?) Players are now getting stuck at connected.

5:10 p.m. EST: There is still no resolution, or any update to give.

5:15 p.m. EST: It seems that now some people can connect, but are being disconnected as soon as they go to their realm.

5:45 p.m. EST: According to the Warcraft twitter there is still no resolution to the problem. Blizzard will provide another update in an hour. Some people are able to log onto the realms, but immediately get disconnected again.

6:15 p.m. EST: We've received dozens of reports that the Blizzard store is having issues selling the authenticators. Looks like you might have to wait awhile to get one if you're buying it to get the in-game core hound pup.

Seems nothing has changed much. As i recall you can figure on a couple days d/time and another week of restarts per patch.

Wow, wonder if we'll see our first ever patch rollback in WoW.  Havn't seen one of those since my Asheron's Call days.

Yeah never go play on launch day or patch day.  Every oddities find their way to almost every game.  LOTRo is an exception, they almost never have big issues ever since closed beta.

I woke up due to a stupid phone call and start loggin in around 6pm server time.  I went back to sleep and got disturbed again 1.5 hours later, look at the screen while I talk over the phone and surpringly, find myself looking at dalaran.

I ditched the phone, send a hello to guild chat, and I got invited to the new dungeon in IC immediately.  The server is very smooth from there, no issues.  Dalaran look very deserted to me, hardly any trade channel spams.  I think the issue is with loading, not with queues.

After I loaded into dalaran, I can swap to each alt very smoothly.  I do the crafting dailies on each toon, its very smooth in dalaran, totally lag free.  Maybe b/c everyone else is still stuck in loading LoL.
