"Conquer the Seas" is the latest major update to hit Darkfall, finally hitting live servers over the weekend, despite some recent delays.

Naturally, the update is quite focused on the seafaring aspects of Darkfall, including the introduction of sea fortresses as epic new sea objectives, sea villages players can control and fight over, as well as  many changes to ships and swimming.

The usual smattering of tweaks, balances, and bug fixes are included with this update as well, and you can find out more by reading the full patch notes available here.

Overall, I think the update/expansion is a sucess. Mind you, there still many bugs fixes, ai balancing, tweaking to still be made this week for this new patch.

First off I just have to say I'm a huge fan of the game.  That said, I was disappointed that the NA servers patched over the weekend.  Many problems ensued that possibly could have been fixed if the patch was done on a weekday.

For example, Shaw users (Canadian ISP provider) could not patch up or play the weekend.  I was on the phone for 1.5 hours on Sunday with Shaw and through trace route reporting we determined that the problem lay with AV's server host GNI and they were closed, thus could not get fixed.  Eventually I was able to get in and play for 10 minutes before giving up because ping would rise to 80,000 and crash out.

I can't really comment on anything else since I wasn't able to play.

As far as I know Shaw had a few bumps all weekend. I too use Shaw and had a tech come to my door saying it was being upgraded nationwide. Not sure if that was the issue or not.

I had my doubts if an announcement would be made, happy to see it up =)

Mobs have been difficult since the expansion but overall the game is so much more fun.

there are problems at 2 canadian routers managing traffic for sometime ,maybe 5-7 days with huge or 100% packet loss .It is not game related

Really been wanting to test this game out since their launch did't have money back then i forgot about it then this summer i was going to test it out and all my friends and other ppl i know in gaming even vets from darkfall told me really not to ? because apparently they kinda killed the game and apparently allot of ppl left the game?

anyone that know how the game is now? population vice ect

We were always going to post news about it. The problem was it was scheduled to release on Thursday of last week, and didn't make it until Saturday.

Lots of cool stuff.  With the fixes that tot he patch that came out on the 7th it should be mutch better.

Very nice update.

The new player balancing made me come back to Darkfall.

Mobs still need a bit of tweaking but they are working on it :)

Tons of new good stuff in this expansion.

Best pvp game around, if you into pvp and can get your mindset wrapped around full loot that is.

No game gives the thrill wich Darkfall provides:)
