Just posting that be wary if you join eve uni some of the veterans and other members in that corp are nice , but i was with eve uni for just over a month and can say some of the officers are really bossy with huge friggen ego's , especially acacia and i hope that australian ego wench actually learn to be respectful for once with newbs rather then blast them everytime someone makes a mistake |

Acacia retired from Eve University several months ago. Personally the only problems I ever saw between Acacia and someone else was if that someone else brought an attitude, even then she had more patience the I would've had.

I myself never attended Eve University, as I was taught by grizzled veteran buddies of mine when I joined, but I know that it is the best place to go to learn the ins and outs of eve if you are a newb without prior connections. Anyone who is new and reads this thread, If you are a little overwhelmed and have no one to help you or teach you the game (advanced stuff not tutorial crap) then sign up to eve uni, you won't be dissapointed. |

Yup eve uni is great, its where I went to learn when I was a nub. They really treat you with more kid gloves than any other corp, and the tax is like 2.5%, lowest you'll find. There is also an interesting song you can find on the interwebs called "Tribute to Sabre A" which is about an ex uni member which is pretty funny. |

Is EvE University still taking in new players? I have been enticed by EvE for awhile and I am about to give it a try. Downloading the game now and working on getting a 23 day key. If I can find a corp that will help me with the learning process then I will resub no problem. "Da bigger da Orc, da stronger da Orc. Da stronger da Orc, da more dat's Orc's da boss. No wonder da Black Orcs is always da bosses!" |

i have been playing eve on and off since late 2007. Ive been in a few corps that have failed to really help me learn about the game. A couple of weeks ago i joined EVE university and it's the best decission i have made in the game so far. It's not just the in game help you get with these guys but there forums are a treasure trove of info about the game. What's also great is the lectures and classes that occur almost daily for that little bit of extra help. For anyone who has never made it past the trial or their first month then join this corp you will not regret it. |

Originally posted by solusbelator LOL really i'm glad to hear that that's best news i've heard coming out of eve in a long time , Anyways not everyone is gonna like each other and that's a given , While you may have liked acacia doesnt mean everyone did Not only did i leave eu because of the way she was sometimes but i had lost two very good friends because of how bossy and rude she could be on ts during a few ops . Like i said you wanna preach on how good eve university is you go right ahead , But i will never forget how some of their teachers have treated some of their students in the past for even some of the most simple mistakes they made and this is a corp that is very forgiving sure right you keep telling yourself that . |

Maybe you were one of those people that refused to follow the rules, so she brought the hammer down. |

I am going to say, the only reason I didn't join EVE U, and probably never will, is because it has a 100% tax rate. Talk to me again when it gets lowered to maybe 20%. idc how good a corp is, if it doesn't offer me some moolah, I aint joining, I will look up what I need to know online with the IGB. |

If you have ever seen them in action you know how good they are. The lessons they give under very difficult situations are for new players that really want to learn the game. They have to hold themselve to high standards and at the same time are under constant attack. Because of this players come out with a great understanding of the game. Not every player is cut out for this! |

Don't join EVE Uni. That's pretty messed up in a game that doesn't have levels and money is king. Honestly, I'm shocked. What a crock of **** to take money from newbies claiming to teach them. I don't care what they teach people, w/e they teach you, you can get from any corp recruiting new players. If anything, everyone should mail them and tell them their corp is BS and if you have pull in a corp, war dec their asses. |

Not sure exactly what it is now but it's very low. Often when Corps are at war (especially noob empire corps) they will raise the tax rate to 100% to prevent certain activities. Having people doing whatever in a time of war is very dangerous for the whole corp. It has nothing to do with the amount of money they take from players, and in fact one of the things they teach is how to make money in a time of war….LOL However, the post in this thread is nothing compared to the assaults this corp faces in game, and is the main reason their grads are so good. |
