So I did it and the game is great. I can't believe how much fun I am having. The only issue I have is that there are more 75+ players then players around 65 but I can always find a duo partner or head out with 3. I recomend any old EQ player to come back and give this game another shot.

 Did they make it easier to level? I have not played since 2005. Back then it took 4 hours just to get 20% exp. 

Of course, you can do amazing things with mercenaries, and overall leveling is much faster than the good 'ol days.

I was soloing on my 41 monk in CoM and it took about 20 mins to level. Right now City of Mst is a hot zone and i was getting about 9% per kill of a dark blue.

Then on my 62 Shm I was soloing and geting 2 % per kill of light blues. I cannot solo dark blues because my pet is so dang weak but if i had a  merc killing would be faster. Oh and i was getting like 10% for a AA per kill.

Hope this helps. I remember it taking 5 mobs to move 1 tick. I had fun but i took forever to level and the economy has exploded and everything is really expensive. I spent 5pp on some pots and a guy payed 500pp for them. Its kinda insane but i have made like 2.5kpp really easily.

I could play my 60 something ranger with one epic sword again... hmmm or my sk or my beastlord.... gosh could i go back to my first love?

It never hurts to try it again. I did and well... you know. Also when I subbed I got all the expansions except the newest one with mercs. Was a nice surprise.  DO IT!

I came back a little over a month ago. I started a char on Mayong and I love it. I'm lvl 63 with over 150 aa's. Its a great game again. I stopped in 04 and I still have tons of fun.
For starting out at lvl 1 on a normal server it wouldnt be that bad. Especially if you had friends to play with. Mercs are free up till lvl 10 and defiant gear drops of newbie yard mobs. Im very glad that I came back. If youre wondering at all, then come on back.

If you haven't gotten any defiant drops, and bazaar is too expensive, do /claim ingame and you should have free starter packs with a few armor, weapon, and potions you can use.

Thanks I did thank and some guildies helped out on stuff rotting in thier banks(still in same guild from 9 years ago. They didnt boot me when I left for 5) . I just havent seen any Defiant armour drop.
 

I used to just open up the LFG window and atleast 5 groups of my level were looking for someone and tons of people were LFG. Now when i open it, no one is looking for more and there is like 1 or 2 people LFG across the whole level spectrum(1-85). Is there a new way for find groups?

I remember the days of EQ when it could take a month to level, ahh those hell levels 30, 35, 40, etc i remember i lost level 36 no less then 14 times lol

The general chat is the best way to do LFG or LFM.  Make sure you manually do /join general, /join general1, /join general2 depending on how many general chats are open.  Since the general chat is maxed at 200 players at once, more gets spawned.  So when you advertise to LFG make sure you do it in all the general chats that are open.

 Just went back to EQ2 and my wife started the 14 day trial...  The EQ UI is just too old for me now after playing EQ2 and WoW. Who knows though, maybe... MAYbe I'll come back to EQ one day, but after the whole fiasco with the raid GMs cheating and banning people who caught them, I decided to wait.

I've never been able to get the love of MMO's as I did with EQ.  EQ was my fav and always will be the one I remembered as being the best.  

I should load it backup again someday and give it a whirl.  :)
